    GREAT COFFEE MAKER for 2

We bought at least 3 of these over time. Everyone who drinks our coffee and wants to brew only 2 or 3 cups buys this maker.

    Makes great hot coffee!

EDIT: My original review stands- I love this coffee pot! After 9 months it started not brewing correctly and so I am purchasing another one. I researched all the other ones but decided to get another one because I love the hot coffee it makes and it is so easy to clean. This time around I purchased the 4-year warranty for $6.99. Original review: I got this to replace my 5 cups Mr. coffee and the coffee is better than Mr. coffee could make. I think it’s because it drips a little slower. It takes a little longer but it’s worth the wait.I don’t like my coffee really strong and I use three level tablespoons of coffee for 4 cups of coffee. There’s a little line right above the numbers to show you that if you want 4 cups coffee you need to add so much water. It’s just a little bit more water I guess that allows for evaporation.I’ve had my coffee pot for about three weeks and everything is working great.I always heat the pot up first and my coffee is hot enough. And I like my coffee very very hot! The pot is easy to clean. I’m very happy with this purchase.

    Best wee coffee machine ever

I love this lil coffee machine. I have a tiny kitchen space to work with and this fits perfectly. I don’t need a lot of coffee so this is perfect for what I need (one pot gives me about 1.5 cups of coffee). It does the job and I have no complaints after 6+ months of use. I also love how it’s has a timer function so I can wake up to freshly brewed coffee. The warming function stays on for 2 hours after a brew, which I also really enjoy as it gives me time to savor my coffee and come back to a warm refill. It’s a great value!

    Good little machine

I’ve had this coffee maker for a few months now, using it nearly daily. For the price, this thing actually makes good tasting coffee. A step above a Mr. Coffee machine, which I owned in the past and didn’t like. I like the Auto function so it can brew in the morning and be ready when I wake up.My only complaint is that whenever you open the top to clean out the old grounds, water drips down the back of the machine. I keep a rag nearby it. Other than that, this is a dependable little machine.

It is very well made and last one lasted at least 7 years

This is the second one that I have purchased the first one at least seven years ago. I bought The Gevi There is no comparison. You get what you pay for and although this small coffee pot is more expensive than others it is well worth it. I am waiting for mine to arrive.

Very nice 5-cup coffee maker by Capresso

Works very well, easy, absolutely no problems, coffee tastes great. Make sure to close down the top (you will hear a definite click) before brewing. I don’t use the mesh filter that comes with the unit. I prefer to use paper filters. Filling the reservoir with water is easy. I don’t need a fancy coffee maker so this is a great one for the price, and seems well made overall including the lid. It also does not slide around on the counter. I guess there are probably rubber things underneath. The coffee comes out nice and hot, and stays hot on the plate for I think 2 hours. It shuts off after the 2 hrs, but the light remains on until you click it off. I don’t use the automatic brewing timer so i can’t comment on that. I love that it doesn’t take up much room on my counter.

Its My Second One So I Guess I Really Like It

Second time buying this exact model. Had the first one for close to, if not over, 10 years. It finally got to the point where the return spring that closes the pause and brew failed and that was all I needed to consier a replacement. I did a quick look for alternatives but decided to stick with what I had a great experience with. It brews flawlessly and produces a great cup of coffer. Of course the coffee maker is not the only required component for a great cup of coffee but it lives up to its role.Super easy to use. I would strongly recommend this coffee maker.

A Fine Smaller-Brew Product and Efficient Space Saver

This is a well made, intelligently designed product. I’ve purchased Capresso products before and have never had a disappointing experience. I don’t know why this excellent mini coffee maker is advertised in such a subdued, understated manner as it is very capable. It is small however, and best suited for kitchens with limited footprint or low overhead space, or simply less need to brew large amounts of coffee. It is advertised as 5 cup capacity but that seems to be a European measure, not the larger American mug size. I estimate it will make 3-4 larger mugs of coffee.Things I most like about this product:- brews hot- simple to program for timed brewing- water measure is a white, step-wise solid plastic gauge in the water well; easy to read, not an external bubble gauge which I found harder to read, and prone to getting stuck or even moldy- the LCD panel on front of maker for current time and later-brew setting is an easy to read larger black print; On/Off/Brewing light though small is a clear, bright lime green color- construction of product is sturdy though class carafe is a bit delicate but if handled with care should remain serviceable

    excellent coffee brewer

I love this coffee unit, it brings out the best of the ground coffee flavors more then other pots the same size. I enjoy the option of holder + a paper filter or just use the gold wire filter basket insert. The auto off at one hour, also helpful if I lose track of time while I am typing projects at the desk. And I have this on a tray thick waterproof serving tray with a lip, to ensure on water issues – on top of a low bookcase in my home office vs just in the kitchen. And since the pot is close by, I can top off my mug to refresh / bring the temp up to speed asap. When it is in the kitchen – it is a real space saver of countertop area too. I always use filtered or bottled water, extra measure in great coffee taste. I use the pot several times a day and the Capresso has outlasted any other brand pot for span of life time, about twice was long before I wear it out. Worth every penny. Some other brands, have off putting plastic odors that never dissipate, those hit the trash asap. I’ve never had that issue with the Capresso. I also use it for hot water for tea, too!

Matched my 3 criteria of what I wanted– No Dribbles on counter; low profile (short); auto shutoff

I studied the reviews of multiple coffeemakers to find the one! This was it! I needed one that didn’t stick up real high as I put this on the counter that has a taller counter behind it where people can sit on a bar stool. My last one was a popular brand and dribbled all over the counter when pouring so that was extremely important that the spout on the carafe didn’t do that. I also wanted one that shut off automatically. We use two coffee makers because spouse and I like different coffee–his is strong and mine is flavored or “foo foo” coffee as he calls it so I didn’t need a huge one. This coffee maker costs more than most of the smaller ones but to not have the dribbling is worth every single penny!I like the glass carafe for cleaning. I don’t program but that is a bonus for those that do.Another thing I noticed is that it doesn’t seem to throw out a bunch of steam. I put my two coffeemakers on the counter without cabinets over it because I didn’t want that steam going on the wood and damaging it. So give that another bonus for this one not putting out a lot of steam.I’m happy with this coffee maker and am glad I took the time to research and find one that meets all of my criteria.

    Has a Timer!

I love this coffee maker. I am SUPER fussy about coffee and it makes a PERFECT brew easily. It keeps the coffee hot and shuts off automatically after 2 hours. It doesn’t stay so hot that it burns the coffee. A cup right away or a cup later tastes just the same. I was happiest about it having a timer! I didn’t realize it when I ordered it. Now, I just program my coffee to perk while I’m making my bed. Sooooo good! Oh, it also has little steps inside the water compartment that are numbered for the amount of cups. If you don’t want to look at the carafe itself to measure, you can peek at the water steps as you fill it to see your level. So cute!

    Wow perfect brew!

I needed a new smaller coffee pot since we are officially empty nesters and wow I’m in brewing heaven! Over the many years, I have paid a ton of money for high end coffee pots that always had at least one flaw. I did not over research this newest addition and wow This pot has exceeded my expectations! It brews fast and it is hands down the hottest pot of coffee ever brewed in this house! Even after adding cold creamer I am still sipping!! And the bonus is this does NOT drip when pouring! It’s a coffee pot miracle!

This is the best coffee maker I’ve ever had!

I recently purchased a Mr. Coffee, and it was ok, but I noticed it didn’t have an auto shut off. I left it on one day (the on light is very dim). Nothing happened, but it scared me to death that it could start a fire, so I went back on Amazon and found this one. It came the same day, so Mr. Coffee is now residing in the yard sale section of my basement. This is much better built than the Mr. Coffee and has a very bright on light and has auto shut off. This coffee maker just seems sturdier and better designed than my last one, and I am quite happy with it.

    Nice small coffee maker

The good thing about this is the small size. I am now the only coffee drinker in my home, and had a 14 cup coffee pot. This small size takes up much less space. The coffee is good. I like a French roast which is stronger. The step design where you add the water is helpful. I use 4.5 cups of water to make two mugs of coffee and 2-3 very full spoons of coffee. The heat plate keeps it warm. It would be better if the clock would light up. I haven’t tried programming it to self start. The plastic pot cover can be annoying as it snaps into the pot top and flips up attached. I cut down the #4 filters, wet it prior to adding the coffee. Overall good for the price.

    Excellent 4-5 cup coffee maker.

This coffee maker is superb. For a little history this is my second 4 cup Capresso coffee maker. The first one lasted nearly 10 years, but finally succumbed to hard Wyoming water, which calcified the heating element. It still worked, but slow and steamy … My new Capresso is just as good as my old one, twice as fast. If you only brew 4-5 cups of coffee at a time, this coffee maker is for you. It is excellent and reliable and a reasonable price. ..

    Love my Capresso!

This coffee maker is so cute and brews an excellent cup of coffee. I bought 2-4 cup filters, because I don’t have a garbage disposal and don’t want to deal with coffee grinds. This is perfect for me, as I’d like to have (2) mugs of coffee each morning. I don’t have much counter space, so it’s just right and I love the capresso!!

Does what it’s meant to do with no issues and is reliable.

I wrote a review originally when I bought this can’t seem to find it anywhere so this is a 3 1/2 year update and I’m happy to say it is still working just fine 2 things to know :1. is that when you’re cleaning it if the LED screen gets wet it will not like that and effect it’s readability.2. The LED screen could be lit MUCH better…..,VERY hard to see on countertop under cabinets in low or indirect light 3. probably like any other coffee maker, if you have hard water with lots of minerals in it, you will need to run white wine vinegar through it a couple/few times a year to clean off the heating elements to keep them working efficiently. The brew speed will drop dramatically if you don’t . THAT will be a good clue TO DO IT.I was surprised and disappointed …. Pissed actually…. at how hard it is (was) to find a SIMPLE 4-5 “cup” coffee maker that is programmable and SIMPLE.Look no more.

    PERFECT

This coffeemaker is packaged properly…even the plug has a plastic cover. The coffeemaker is quality made. It makes 25 ounces of the best smelling, best tasting coffee I have seen in 60 years…and I didn’t change brands of coffee. Has a water line and coffee line. Does not require a lot of counter space, so it is a perfect size for my small kitchen. Really important to me…I can put coffee grounds and water in it and set it later today, so it will automatically make coffee at 5:00 tomorrow morning. I wake up to fresh, hot coffee aroma. It automatically keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours, or push button to shut it off. Or, it has a simple push one button to start it making coffee. Really good thing….my 8-12 paper coffee filters fit in it, very inexpensive disposable filters. No coffee grounds in the kitchen drain. Just remove the metal mesh filter, drop in the paper filter. I love this coffee maker. Perfect for two 12 oz. mugs of hot coffee.

This compact coffee maker is just what I need. It’s quick, brews a decent pot of coffee, and shuts itself off if I’m flying out the door to work. Great little coffee maker

Switch from keuregs to this because it was more cost effective. It’s just me drinking coffee, so the size is perfect, especially with limited counter space. Have had this for almost 3 months and so far it still works great as the day i got it. I haven’t testing the timer option.I’ve seen people complain about the built in filter being hard to clean. I don’t know, it takes less that 1 minute to clean. I dump it in the trash and wash out the leftover grounds in the sink. Simple as can be.Perfect for single casual coffee drinkers or even for dorms if you got a kiddo going off to college.

    Perfect!

Usually I’m the only one in the house who buys ground coffee (pods are so wasteful even the creator of them regrets it!). I previously had just a basic 5 cup machine from Walmart, but it broke and I had been eyeing this one for quite some time. I love it. It has all the features I could want and I love that it has a warmer so I dont need to microwave my second cup. It brews fairly quickly and it has a cup measure and a water messure, which i dont usually see on these machines. I regret not buying this sooner!

    Great little coffee maker

The Capresso 5 cup minidrip (model 426) is the perfect size for me and works flawlessly so far (it arrived two days ago, 7 Dec 2018). The molded text on the bottom of the maker says “model 426” and has the number 4245 as well (without a label).A detail where the physical device and its manual disagree is: the manual says that the removable filter holder snaps into the maker. It doesn’t. Instead, it has loop handles on top and closing the lid forces the basket down. That presses the spring-mounted plunger (which is mounted through the bottom of the filter holder) against the top of the carafe. When the spring is collapsed by the carafe, the plunger is raised so water can flow out the bottom of the filter holder. (The plunger seals the hole at the bottom of the filter holder when the carafe is absent.) The manual calls that plunger the “drip stop”.You can interrupt brewing by pressing the on/off button twice, then restart it by pressing the button once. Independently of that, you can remove the carafe during brewing for a few seconds to pour a cup of coffee. (The manual says you get 30 seconds. I’m guessing that’s based on the water flow rate and the risk of overflowing the filter.) The spring-mounted plunger seals the filter holder once the carafe isn’t there to push it up. The carafe has to be tilted slightly to get under the spring easily when putting the carafe back on the hot plate. The gold mesh filter that comes with it has a solid plastic bottom and some water pools there without draining into the carafe. Most water goes out the sides of the filter as designed, but even without coffee grounds in the basket, water pools on the flat bottom of the filter basket. A filter that has gold mesh on the bottom would be a better design, I think, to ensure as much water as possible gets through the grounds into the carafe. I’ll be switching to paper filters to get more water through (tho’ the paper will absorb some), and for increased ease of handling, especially since the gold filter seems a little fragile. The manual says to use medium coarse ground coffee in the gold mesh filter. It seems to be ok with Folgers 100% Colombian with only a tiny bit of sediment allowed through. A smaller mesh hole size would allow finer grounds to be used. But maybe that would impede the flow-through rate, so maybe the filter would overflow, given the machine’s water flow rate? The manual says to not exceed 8 tablespoons of coffee grounds in the filter. The level in the water reservoir is indicated by a white stair-step piece of plastic. The overflow hole is slightly above the height of the “5” step. To fill the reservoir to its maximum you have to add a little more water while watching the overflow hole. I’d prefer the overflow hole be on one of the sides, rather than the back of the unit. This really only affects you if you use a separate pitcher to fill the reservoir. The carafe has water levels marked, so you can fill the carafe and pour the measured water into the reservoir. So I’ll probably learn to fill it with the carafe. My instant read thermometer says the water is 175 degrees F immediately after brewing. After an hour on the hot plate, it’s 172 degrees. The lid latch is stiff, so it can be hard to open; it lifts the entire unit! However, it’s plastic and slightly flexible. I’ve found that twisting the small handle slightly serves to disengage the latch more easily than just trying to lift the top straight up. Opening it that way is even easier after brewing since the plastic has been warmed by the steam (so is more flexible). By twisting, I mean as tho’ turning a knob on a horizontal axis. The carafe is marked with input (water) amounts and output (coffee) amounts for 2 through 5 “cups”, with the difference between input and output reflecting mostly (I assume) the water retained by the grounds. The carafe holds 27 ounces when filled to the input level for 5 cups, and about 1 ounce less for output. So it’s close to the industry’s standard, which is 5 ounce cups.

Great design for such an affordable machine

I’ve had this coffee machine for about a year and a half now. I think it’s a great design and notably more well-engineered than with the more well-known brands at this price point.I just wish it could hold up for a little while longer. With the mineral deposits in a non-metropolitan water system, a year and half has apparently been its shelf life.Clearly there’s been a lot of thought given to the design of this coffee machine, even in the space between the water reservoir and the coffee basket. Compared to any more common brands stocked at the big box stores, this is not just a generic coffee machine.Albeit, these added features may make it more difficult to descale for intensive cleaning – perhaps it might need something like a breakaway diagram to illustrate.I’d say that I can comment to these added features, now having removed the bottom of the coffee machine twice now. It needs an uncommon sort of screwdriver for this DIY maintenance, something like a small flat-head screwdriver with a slot in the middle. A very small conventional flat-head screwdriver might be able to suffice. With the bottom of the machine removed and opened up for intensive cleaning, it’s easy to see how well the mineral deposits have clung to these added features – the fin on the inside of the heating element, for instance, and the added shims on the basket side of the water flow. The machine I have is almost completely blocked at the heating element, from the mineral deposits. I’m certain that this is not a common concern, probably generally no concern for regular use with a metro water supply.I’m glad it’s so affordable. If it’s disposable after just a couple of years with this non-metro water system, I’d say that it’s held up pretty well though, considering. There aren’t many really reliable-looking options for this compact size. Hopefully this one holds up for a little while longer. It was great while it lasted. It’s going to be a tough call, replacing this really well designed little coffee machine.

    Better than other machines

I’m the only one in my house that drinks coffee, and I have limited counter space, so I needed a small machine to replace the thousandth Mr, Coffee coffee machine I’ve had… you know… because they somehow break every. single. year. Like on the exact month each year they just DIE. So, I got tired of buying a new machine each year and wanted to try a new brand. So, here we are. I didn’t realize how badly Mr. Coffee coffee makers burn your coffee until I splurged on this Capresso. Amazing tasting coffee, and brews 10x faster than my Mr Coffee peculator ever did. I could brew four cups of coffee with this in the time my old coffee maker took to brew one. The only thing I don’t like is that there’s no indicator when it’s done brewing. Otherwise, it’s the best coffee maker I’ve ever had.

It take a little patience with this one but it does absolutely amazing

I got this coffee maker within hours no joke and on sale 10$ off but didn’t use it right away it took a few days as I’m not a faithful coffee drinker. And yesterday was the first time I use it. Read some reviews and thought well ima try. First time using it my coffee was hot but not hot enough for me and but the second day I left it sitting there for about 10 minutes more or less as I washed my dishes and it was hot! Just like I like it I use a thermo coffee cup 16oz and it keeps it hot for hours all though I drink it before then but sometimes you get busy with house work or what may be for anyone and an hour later still as hot so it’s a win win for me. Happy customer for sure oh and as the one who got rust on his I turn my coffee maker upside down to make sure all the water is out maintaining your maker is key. I would recommend a little love and patience goes a long way.

    Great!!!

Really a great coffee maker. It makes a great cup of coffee. Compact, easy to fill, pot does not drip when pouring, easy to set clock and auto. Bought a Krup 2 years ago. It smelled like it was burning for days when I used it. This one has no smell. Nothing negative to say!!!Just wanted to update you!!! I still LUV, LUV, LUV this coffee maker. I saw a review where someone said that the inside got moldy. I leave my lid up to avoid this and have had no problem. Also, someone said the clock was hard to set. I found it easy. Press the set button and use the +/- keys to set. Pressing the set button will also take you between current time and auto brew time. Be sure to watch for the AM/PM when setting. HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

    Exactly what I wanted

15 years ago I needed a small five cup coffee pot. I bought a Sears Kenmore 5 cup pot and I have really loved it. The only problem I had with it was the pot would dribble when it poured and the spring loaded stopper on the main basket dripped occasionally on to the heater pad when the pot was removed, eventually causing rust. In January I noticed a leak and found the pot cracked around the bottom metal ring, so I was looking for another coffee pot without much success (everything is flimsy and cheap). Then I found this Capresso on Amazon and it appeared almost identical to the Kenmore pot so I ordered it and (eureka!) it was almost identical. It looks great and brews a great cup of coffee. The heater pad and brewing heater seem stronger and, what do you know!, they fixed the pot so it doesn’t dribble, pours without a drop of dribble and the spring loaded stopper on the main basket doesn’t drip. (stronger spring I think). The filter cup is large and you can make three full pots on the same strainer before emptying or, as I do, with a standard filter paper inserted inside the strainer (you could probably make even more if you remove the strainer and put the filter paper directly in the basket, I just like the double filtering). The heater pad appears to have a nice anti-rust coating. This pot has the same clock and programming as the old one although I never use it. If there’s a power Interruption you have to reset it. The water measuring indicator is the same “stepped” indicator as the old pot except that it is almost iridescent white, easy to read and accurate. Also I like that the brewing arm swings down with the lid instead of swinging sideways as some do.The only negative thing I have to say about the pot is that sometimes the lid pops just a hair when you put the pot under the basket, no biggie just tap it back down (or if you want to be crafty trim the ears on the main basket or bend them to a little less height).I guess that’s about it. This is a very nice coffee pot worth the extra money, good value. I don’t know but I expect it will last another 10 or 15 years

    Attractive, Efficient Little Coffeemaker

This is a great little coffeemaker for a single/small household. I grew tired of dealing with a large apparatus when I usually needed only 3-4 cups; this model actually makes 5. If I brew 5, I’ve been pouring the leftover amount into a mug, adding cream and sugar, refrigerating, and using it later in the day for iced coffee. Water-line markings on carafe are clearly marked, easy to read. The built-in filter is convenient, but I found it difficult to empty the wet grounds from it, so I purchased Melitta paper filters designed for 4-6 cup coffeemakers. They fit perfectly in the basket and can be tossed easily into trash. Taste of coffee is excellent. Best of all, there is NO dripping of liquid, as I’ve experienced with other units! Have been using this now for 2 weeks and am totally pleased with it–highly recommend.

Does Just What It Is Supposed To Do

After my last Mr. Coffee coffeemaker died, I figured it was time to look elsewhere. After reading a number of reviews across a number of websites (not just Amazon), I settled on the Capresso 5 cup Mini Drip Coffee Maker, and I’m glad to say I’m please with my purchase (of about a month ago). This coffee maker does exactly what it says it does. It brews a hot cup of coffee quickly and efficiently, with little effort on the part of the user. Open the lip, place the ground up coffee beans in the basket, add the appropriate amount of water, close the lid, and press start. Within a few minutes you’re rewarded with a nice cup of hot coffee. Pretty darned simple. Can I say I can taste a difference from my old Mr. Coffee? Nope. Now, change the coffee that goes into the basket and I might just tell a difference. A few reviewers noted a “plastic smell”; after removing the coffee maker from its box, I ran 2 full pots of water thru the machine first to negate any unwanted manufacturing particles or smells, not that I noticed any. This was not an issue for me.Is the coffee hot? Yes, and oh so ready to be consumed. I can’t tell you the temperature as there are other things I’d rather do first thing with my coffee rather than drop a thermometer into my freshly brewed coffee. The coffee is delivered nice and hot, but not hot enough to scold you should you be a klutz and spill it into our lap.Is it noisy? No more so than any other coffee maker I’ve used. One person complained that the clock is on top of the base, thus hard to see, and is unlit. Well, yes, that’s true, but it’s all a part of the timer, should you care to use that feature. Chances are there is another clock within reach of the coffeemaker (maybe the stove, the microwave, an alarm clock, a wrist watch, or a wall clock) – for me (and maybe not you), this is a non-issue.This is a basic drip coffee pot. It performs its sole task very well and the unit costs relatively little. I’m very happy with this coffeemaker and I trust you will be too, should you care to push that ADD TO CART button above. Go ahead, do it.

    Tips for best results

If your coffee tastes like plastic you didn’t clean it good enough; I ran a 5-cup pot thru it with 1/2 vinegar &1/2 water, then ran about 4 more pots thru with just water it until the vinegar smell was gone, no plastic smell or taste whatsoever. Didn’t take long. Yes you can ditch the metal filter and use a regular paper coffee filter just make sure it’s not stretched out so to speak and sits nicely against the basket. This unit will run water thru very quickly as opposed to other units that have a “strong brew” choice so I used 6 tbsp of grounds for a full 5 cup pot and it was the same taste as my other maker which I usually brewed 6 cups. Just make sure your pot seats nicely into the bottom and the basket seats well within the top and the lid is tight. To have the hottest coffee start your brew time just a little earlier and let the coffee sit on the burner for 10 minutes or so after it’s done brewing and it’ll be plenty hot. I had to do that with my old coffee maker as well (full size Black & Decker). It’s hard to find a mini coffee maker that’s programmable most of them are not so snap this up I think it’s a bargain. And for the price point it’s not going to last forever just keep that in mind going in.

    Great Coffee Pot

Been through numerous 5 cup coffee pots – mostly Mr. Coffee. Not so easy to find 5-cup. This one has lasted the longest thus far. I have to replace the glass carafe – my fault I broke it but that was easily done through Amazon. Seriously considered just getting a new one but times are tough. Can always use a spare carafe besides. Great value for the money, coffee brews hot as I like it – had issues with Mr. Coffee for that reason among others.

    Long life span!

This is the second one of these small 5 cup coffee makers I have purchased. I bought this brand specifically because my first one lasted so long. My first Capresso coffee maker lasted approx 5 years. Yes, I’m not exaggerating. I have to say I used bottled water in the coffee maker therefore I had no lime build up, and although I can’t remember exactly when I purchased it (I wish I could), I know for certain it was long before COVID started, and it just stopped working on October 3, 2023. For a small 5 cup coffee maker that’s a pretty long life. I also really like the programmable feature on tge coffeemaker which I use on the days I go to work. It’s incredibly easy to use & clean. I’m 72 years old, and I been through a lot of these small coffee makers. This Capresso brand is the best I’ve owned. I hope they never stop making them.

FINALLY, a cheap coffee maker that does all the things

I don’t know why appliances are such a saga to shop for! Our inexpensive drip coffee maker from Target kicked the bucket and we just wanted a replacement. Not a huge 12 cup monster, just something for me and my husband that doesn’t take up a ton of counter space. The Amazon’s choice silver one we ordered made a huge mess and overflowed, brewed with no stopper until all the water was used so you had to wait to pour your cup, and never made good tasting coffee. I thought I was going to have to pay $60 to get the “basic” features l took for granted on our old cheap model..Thank goodness we found this little thing, our lives are finally back to normal! Just like the old one this has auto shut off so it keeps the coffee warm but doesn’t need babysitting, it’s programmable so when I remember to set it up I can enjoy that little luxury, it’s easy to use, the pot pours very cleanly, and most of all, it makes YUMMY coffee. And we got it for like $25, which is just slightly more than our previous one. Very happy.

    Well made coffee maker

This is a nice coffee maker! Like a lot of reviewers I’m the only coffee drinker in the house so five cup in the morning is usually enough. I like to grind my beans and pods get expensive so a small pot works best for me. The Capresso is a nice size and fits under the kitchen cabinets. Although the clock and timer work well I don’t use it. The water level step is an interesting design, I seldom make less than a full pot but once in a while I want one more cup and it’s hard to see the lower steps. I do keep it in a darker corner of my counter so the water level and clock are a little harder to read. I’ve been using it daily for about five months now with no complaints. I think the hot plate keeps coffee at the right temperature, doesn’t burn the coffee if you leave it on to long. A little more than I wanted to spend but the quality is there and the cheap ones are just that.Well I guess I spoke to soon. Less than seven months and it died, stopped heating. The clock and timer work but I need coffee! I’m not afraid to take things apart, they all work the same way. I did not find any shorts or fried wires. What I did find was the water level step was getting kind of nasty and due for a good cleaning. I really liked this coffee maker so do I try another one or move on to something else? I’ll have a spare carafe and basket! I didn’t change my rating but yeah, I’m disappointed. Just more landfill.Final update; I did get ahold of customer service after being on hold for over an hour. The problem is I have to ship it to Pennsylvania. UPS shipping calculator came up with about $16.80 for shipping. I get it, they can’t give a coffee maker to anyone willing to be on hold for a hour. I’ve had bad luck with these small coffee makers so I went cheap and bought a SHARDOR for $17.99 + tax. So far it is working just fine!

    Perfect small coffee maker

I was skeptical about this “mini model” but since I am the only coffee drinker in the house I wanted to save space and try something different from the time-consuming pour over for every cup in the morning. This little appliance does a great job of brewing 2-2.5 large cups which is enough for me. I do heat the cup before pouring the coffee and find that it is plenty hot even with a little milk added. I grind quality beans just before brewing which makes a world of difference in taste from the stale pre-ground grocery store coffee. It’s worth the bit of expense and effort! If there are any negatives they are not deal-breakers: the top does drip onto the back of the unit if it is opened all the way after brewing/cleaning; the small paper filters are not easily found in grocery stores and if you are filling one with freshly ground coffee from a grinder it’s difficult to do that cleanly while the filter is seated in the unit (it requires very precise tipping or else the grounds will go into the reservoir). I usually put the filter on the counter and fill it there before transferring it into the basket. I don’t use the gold filter provided so I can’t say how that would work. All in all I am very happy with this little gem!

    Great little coffee maker!

For its price, this coffee maker works great so far. I’ve used it for two weeks. I’ve found if you follow the directions and prepare to brew in the same order as the directions, it’s perfect!I don’t use timer so can’t comment on it.The carafe has a removable lid and it’s easy to clean. I fill carafe with cold water to the cup level I’m making. The carafe is clearly marked. And then pour water into machine. Put the basket into holder and make sure it’s seated correctly. Measure coffee (I grind fresh roasted whole beans to the size that’s suitable for drip). Put the lid on the pot, place it on the burner, put lid down and snap it into place. Turn on machine. Takes about 5 mins for 3 cups – including about 30 secs for coffee to completely clear the machine into the pot.I immediately turn it off – the 3 cups fills my thermos – and take the grounds basket out. I clean the basket, clean the pot and leave the top of machine open for several hours to let inside dry out. I use a paper towel to wipe out condensation and clean the heating plate.I do this for every use and expect it will enable the machine to last longer. Plus your coffee will taste better if you start with it clean. It takes up very little space on counter, is easy to move around and is perfect size for a one coffee drinker household. So far I really love it.Oh, and it makes great and piping hot coffee!

Auto shut off is a necessary feature for safety

There are 2 important things you need to know is that about this coffee maker-#1- It has an automatic shut off after two hours. If you still want to keep your coffee warm after that, you can turn it back on, and it will turn off in another two hours. This is not just convenient, but it’s so much safer than relying on your memory (or someone else’s) to turn the coffee maker off every single time. This is just a basic safety issue that all coffee makers should have, imo. But they don’t. Neither the Amazon 5 cup, or the Mr Coffee 5 cup feature this. And #2-This coffee maker is comparable in price to the Mr Coffee 5 cup maker. Even though the Mr Coffee is listed at half the price of the Capresso. Mr Coffee (5 cup) does not come with a reusable filter. You have to purchase it separately. Currently the price is $19.99 for the black model, and $25.45 for the white model. Currently reusable filters for these are $12.89 for two (or $12.99 for one- not sure what that’s about). Which brings you up to approximately $33.00 or 38.00- depending on the color you choose. If you would like to buy disposable filters in addition to the reusable ones, add $5.00 (the very cheapest you can find) for 100 filters. Which brings you up to $38.00/ $43.00.If you just want to stick with paper filters, you’re still looking at $15 at the very least for a years worth of filters. So the cheapest you can get the 5 cup Mr Coffee maker is $35 to $40.The Capresso is also $40. (The price has not risen at all in 3 years). Considering the Capresso is digital, programmable to brew coffee at a set time, and has an auto shut-off, I’d say that the Capresso is a much better deal.My husband made a silly mistake and in the process destroyed our coffee maker so I needed to purchase a replacement. I almost bought the Mr Coffee, but after realizing everything I pointed out above, I obviously decided to stick with the Capresso. It has reliably made delicious coffee for the last 3 years. I’m sure it would have lasted much longer had my husband not decided to run Starbursts through it (long story).

    pulled 666-684 WATTS – Works w/ my 800 W Bluetti Power Inverter

I’m HAPPY with this one .. it took about 7 min to get 5 cups of hot steamy goodness. We travel a lot in a van type RoadTrek and space is a premium, so I’m happy with the small compact size. Previously, I tried a single cup coffee maker and it took over 20 min to get only one cup of coffee and it used way more power. I’m happy that this one does 5 cups in 1/2 the time and gives my battery bank no trouble. It spiked around 684Wastts but settled into around 666Wastts using my 800W Bluetti. Yay, I Finally have a solution to quick off the grid coffee. In the past (and still highly recommended – we use/used a JetBoil for fast hot water and a coffee press for a NO-power solution. We will still keep that system on board for back-up. Happy travels. Only thing that could make it better would be to have an unbreakable caraffe.

Lasted 3.5 years; brewed well, hot

This has been a good small coffee maker to use. I have used several by Mr. coffee and other brands, but sometimes the build quality wasn’t good and the coffee flavor was not good. This Capresso has worked well for more than 3 1/2 years and this morning I turned it on but nothing happened so I turned it off waited a bit and tried it again and it’s still dead. Now I’ll have to get another one. What’s good about this brewer is that it seems to brew at a high enough temperature to extract the grounds and make a good cup of coffee. It’s also small and doesn’t hog your counter space when you only really want two large cups of coffee instead of a whole 12 cup potSo I’m sorry that it died this morning but now that I look at the purchase date from spring 2021 I guess that’s a pretty good return on investment.Be sure to get the smaller 4 cup coffee filters instead of the normal large ones or else you’ll have to cram them in

Great little 5 cup coffee maker

I love coffee and must have at least 2 cups in the morning to start my day. My coffeemaker broke so I’ve been searching for a nice little coffee maker for some time. But The Hamilton Beach BrewStation makes a real good cup of coffee and would have kept it but it was just much too big for one person and it was too tall to fit on my counter under my wall cabinets. After that I tired others coffee makers by other manufacturers and I must say I’ve returned quite a few of them back Amazon because I just wasn’t pleased with the flavor of the coffee. Then honestly as a last ditch effort, I tired this Capresso maker.. And wow I must say that this Capresso is a nice little 5 cup coffee maker. It’s easy to use and the coffee comes out hot with a smooth flavor. I would however recommend using the paper filters rather than the wire mesh that comes with it. I just think the paper filters give the coffee a better flavor. The maker keeps the coffee hot for up to 2 hours. Well worth the investment for a little coffee maker that makes a nice cup of coffee. It’s very quiet, Brew time is about average, it’s good looking, well made and the glass coffee seems to be made out of a nice quality ( but as with any glass pot use caution when cleaning) .You can’t go wrong for the money. Actually I must say it’s better than some of the so-called higher price makers I tried and if I had of known this, I would have bought Capresso as my FIRST choice coffee MAKER not the last. Glad I tried it, it’s a good little maker, makes good coffee and well worth the money.

    I LOVE IT!

As a live-alone bachelor I don’t need a big 12 cup coffee maker to take up lots of counter space but there aren’t a lot of choices for decent small 2 cup coffee maker. I’ve owned several Mr. Coffee’s and they worked OK for a while but the coating on the heating plates tend to wear off quickly leaving the exposed metal to rust. My new Capresso 5-Cup Mini Drip Coffee Maker has worked perfectly since day one. Unlike the Mr. Coffee’s it is not too sensitive as to the quantity of coffee you add and still produces a tasty brew. The coating on the heating plate appears to be thick enough to last a couple years or so. So far, I couldn’t be happier with this new appliance.

And quite often I wanted just one more cup. This 5-cup Capresso is perfect! It makes great coffee, and the pour spout is mess free. I like the water level indicator and the handle is sturdy and easy to hold, and the programmable features are a nice plus, and simple to use. Great thing in a Small Package!

Needed a new coffee maker and took the opportunity to downsize. Made a great choice with this, it is small but does a great job, is programmable and easy to clean. After a slight chemical taste in the first couple of pots the coffee has been great since. I guess it would help to give a good cleaning first. It’s great for anyone who has limited space but needs that morning cup. Perfect size for a single person, 5-cup pot brews up in about 5-minutes including prep but you can also set it ahead the night before and wake up ready to pour! I’m happy with my decision, think you would be too!

I’m single and this is IT

I have spent a lot of money in the past decade to find the right combination of convenience, flavor and cost. The pods are expensive and sometimes just didn’t deliver good flavor, yet I liked the convenience and mindlessness of shoving in a pod and hitting a button. I tried pour-over types, but the coffee isn’t as hot as I would like…ditto for French press. As a single person, I like this little drip machine. (1) I use my own fresh ground coffee. Yes, you can do this with a pod machine, but then you have to clean the reusable pod. (2) I don’t use the micro mesh filter that comes with the machine because I don’t want to clean it. I use small coffee filters that I toss, and they’re just paper that easily decomposes. (3) The coffee taste great. I don’t drink coffee all day, so I make just a couple of cups at in the morning, save money, and enjoy a good brew. Oh, and the carafe is totally dripless.

Since I’m the only one in the home that drinks coffee, I didn’t need a 10-12 cup one taking up space and certainly didn’t need 300 options on how to brew a simple cup of Joe. In any case, this is just about perfect. The footprint is small, it can brew, I’d say, about 3 very large cups of coffee or 4 small(er) ones. The markings on the carafe for how many cups are if you have dainty cups. The glass carafe is not super robust like a commercial one, but seems adequate for the job. The lines and design are clean and not overstated for what it’s doing, (simply brewing some coffee.) The water heats up in about 2 minutes and is hot enough to allow you to have to wait about 2 minutes before you can enjoy. (Not too hot, but not wishing it was scalding either) There is an easy timer function for pre-brewing, so you can wake up and it will be going. Its as easy as setting an alarm clock on a standard style radio. Another thing I liked is that the filter basket does not require paper filters and has done a great job keeping the grounds out of the pot. Lastly, it’s been easy to clean up and empty the grounds, etc without having to read a user-manual just to disassemble. If you’re looking for overall GOOD value for money, small footprint, easy clean, good tasting coffee with decent water temp, look no further than this Capresso!

programmable 3+ cup drip coffee maker

I like the small form factor, easily put away in shelf. it’s programmable, though not that easy if it’s unplugged and put away daily because the clock loses it’s time and the program goes away. However, I plug it in and program it for 9 hours at 2145 hrs. It then turns on at 0645 so ready to drink at 0700. the hotplate keeps the coffee hot for up to two hours. the removable filter is fairly easy to clean, though using paper filters would make it even easier, no grounds to rinse from filter. I previously used a pour-over technique and the taste is slightly different (not worse or better, just different). It’s nice to have fresh coffee when I want it three times a day. brews 2 cups (water to 3 cups and two Tbsp coffee) in about 5 minutes, full pot in 8 minutes. I’m please with it so far, hopefully it will last a long time, like the Capresso coffee bean grinder I had.

    A Competent Dripster

I had a Mr. Coffee 4-cup with timer function, available for $20 20 years ago, that declared its retirement by leaking on my countertop about as much water as made it into the pot. No complaints, given its nearly two decades of service, but any replacement would naturally draw comparisons. I wished I replaced it earlier! The Capresso delivers better coffee in every context. The temperature of the drip seems more consistent; brewing half a pot gives the same flavor as a full one, as long as you do your part with the grounds you put in–I never could get that right with the Mr. Coffee. I used to turn off the old coffeemaker right after the brew, because just a few minutes on the burner would start to introduce a scorched taste. I’m guessing the hot plate on this Capresso runs cooler, or is more evenly heated, as I don’t have that issue now.I’m able to enjoy my coffee a little weaker than before also, making the 5-cup capacity perfect. No more daily disappointment with my second big mug being less full, lukewarm, and more bitter tasting. Also, the brew is quieter, with much less “coughing” that might cause fine grounds to be flung out of the basket. And I appreciate a reusable filter being included, though I won’t use it except when I’m out of the paper ones. There are flaws I’ve noticed, though these are not major. The top lid’s design allows condensation to run onto the counter when lifted; I solved this with a binder clip on the side of the tank to prop up the lid at a low angle to let everything air out. I don’t know how long the snap mechanism of the lid will last, with the relevant parts all being molded plastic–I’ll be ready with something heavy to set on top when that day arrives I guess. The carafe requires a slow pour to avoid a mess; I just got used to it.Overall, a solid choice. I hope to enjoy many good brews through this!

    Excellent coffee maker!

Coffee is hot. I use a 4 cup mug every morning and this fills it perfectly. If the coffee you use is very finely ground, splurge for the heavier brown paper filters. I tried using just the filter that came with, but didn’t like it. To me this is a great value for my morning starter cup!

    Perfect for my needs

I bought this for the timer actually and I read the instructions on how to set it several times to no avail.. But it brews the coffee quickly and works very well in that respect..Maybe I’ll run across a Rocket Scientist one day and ask them to set the timer for me, otherwise I’m very happy. Brews delicious coffee and is small and compact. My up date is I like this little jewel so much, I bought a backup incase they try to improve this model. Why? because it’s the BEST little coffee maker I’ve had and it brews 3 (actual cups unless Tea Cups maybe 5) and it’s PERFECT the way it is.!

    Great small coffee maker!

I have been buying small coffee makers for the last 20 years. This one is, by far, the best small coffee maker out there. No mess, keeps coffee hot and has automatic shutoff. What more do you need! Great product.

This is the One for You

This is a nice product. It is based on the original drip coffee maker. This one has a filter holder and a wire basket if you don’t use paper filters. It has a timer, but I never use it. On the inside there is a little notch to help with the proper orientation for the filter holder. It is relatively quiet to my surprise. The top is thick enough to contain the sound, not like cheap ones with thin tops. Overall it seems to me to be up to long term use. It is very simple to operate. I recommend it.A REAL PERSON

    Small, but reliable coffee maker

Love the Capresso 5 cup coffee maker (this is the second one I’ve had…first one last 4 years). Perfect for small galley kitchen and does make a good cup of coffee. Also, it turns off after 2 hours, which is a plus. Would definitely recommend!!

    Perfect

I had to ditch my 12 cup coffee maker. Just to much and took up space. I thought that I would try a small 5-cup. To my surprise I fell in love with this. Easy to set up and also has a timer. No need for regular filters, unless you prefer them.

    A great little coffeemaker

This 5 cup coffee maker is perfect for me as the only coffee drinker in the house. It looks great and my coffee brews quickly. No drips when I pull the carafe to pour a cup, which is an improvement over my previous machines. I can’t speak to the timer functionality as I just make my coffee every morning without using the timer.

    Be careful with carafe . . .

. . . as it will cost more than a new Mr Coffee 5 cupper to replace! Had the Capresso machine for 20 months of hassle-free, quick, and hot morning coffee, before my mishandle caused a chip/leak in bottom of carafe. Disappointed that a replacement carafe costs more than the Mr Coffee I just bought: $19 for the entire unit! Not wanting to add to the ol’ landfill, but really – spending $22 for just a carafe? Before I dispose of it though, will see if new machine’s carafe fits the older machine . . . that’d be funny, and I’d then save the new machine until the old one gives up the ghost! BY THE WAY, 8 cup paper filters do fit the Capressso 5 cup basket, FYI.Recommend the Capresso, but be careful with the glass!

Great (and replacement carafes are available if needed)

I’ve had this coffee maker for 5 years with no complaints. Recently, while hastily washing the glass carafe in the sink, I accidentally chipped the glass leaving a hole in the bottom. My fault, not the coffee pot’s fault! I was very pleased to see that there were replacement carafes on Amazon I could have purchased. (Mr. Coffee does not currently sell replacement carafes for their similar model). As my original coffee maker was already 5 years old, I opted to buy the complete coffee maker with carafe instead of just the replacement. It was nice to have the option though!!! (And nice to know the carafe was relatively shatter-proof during breakage, leaving only a small hole). Could have been much worse 🙂

Early morning companion for many years

I love this little coffee maker. The first one I bought in 2015 lasted me without any hiccups until a couple of weeks ago. Sometime along the way, maybe two years ago, I had to purchase a replacement carafe – I have absolutely no complaints and can highly recommend this coffee maker for smaller household with two or at the maximum three coffee drinkers. Today I received my replacement and I’m expecting it to be just as dependable as it’s predecessor.

Can’t believe I didn’t find this until now!

This coffee maker is ideal for the person who only drinks a cup or two. It fits neatly on my countertop, and takes up very little space. I was a k-cup coffee drinker, until it broke, and I came across this one. Nothing beats waking up to the sound, and smell of fresh brewed coffee!

If you are looking for a small, good looking and reliable coffee maker, this is it!

My kitchen is tiny. I needed a small coffee maker. This one is perfect: small, reliable and good looking. This is the third one I have purchased. I did not buy the other two here at Amazon, so I cannot remember how long they lasted buy they did last a long time. Now that I bought it here I will be able to keep track of how long it lasts.
