Surprisingly High-Quality and Perfect for Camping

I wasn’t expecting much at this price, but this 9-cup percolator set exceeded my expectations. The stainless steel feels heavy-duty (definitely not flimsy), and the overall construction is solid—nothing rattles or feels cheaply put together. It looks sleek enough to keep on the stove at home, but it really shines for outdoor use.The wooden handle is a nice touch and surprisingly stays cool even when the pot is over high heat. I used it over both a campfire and a gas burner, and it performed perfectly both times. Coffee brewed fast, tasted great, and came out clean—no grounds in the bottom of the mug, thanks to the internal filter and well-designed spout. The four included mugs are smaller than standard mugs (around 12 oz), but they’re double-walled, and the carabiner handles are actually useful when camping—great for clipping onto packs. Each mug has a different colored carabiner, so no mix-ups around the campfire.Another bonus: the packaging was excellent. Everything was securely packed, and it even looked nice enough to give as a gift right out of the box.If you’re looking for a reliable, stylish coffee maker for car camping, backyard gatherings, or even as an emergency backup at home—this is a great buy. Definitely too heavy for backpacking, but perfect for everything else.

Perfect for Car Camping! (Too Heavy for Backpacking!)

First off, be prepared for a LARGE shipping box. I had no idea what it could be when it came in the mail today. The packaging is brilliant, with a hilarious and obviously GPT written tutorial right on the back of the box.Note that this set is HEAVY. This is definitely *not* for backpacking, but it’s absolutely lovely for home or car camping. The mugs are double walled stainless steel so your hands won’t be torched, and they have the well thought out addition of different coloured carabiniers so you know which cup is yours. Also you can use the carabinier to clip your respective cup to your bag if you wish. The carabiniers are screwed into the outer wall with a small phillips head screw. The percolator itself is a straight up, stainless steel constructed tank. It’s very well constructed and has a lovely wooden steak knife style grip riveted onto the top and bottom of the handle so you won’t burn yourself. Do note that this will make it somewhat less dishwasher friendly, however, or at least be sure to keep the handle oiled with some grapeseed oil or board butter. There is an extra percolation lid included, which is an excellent touch, and yes they are glass!Lastly, they added clear vinyl clings at various rub points around the top and bottom of the percolator to keep it nice and shiny during shipping, so do inspect it very carefully and remove all of the strips before using. If you are looking for a beautifully overengineered bit of coffee kit for your car camping or at home arsenal, don’t hesitate to get this. Note that while the mugs are double walled, the percolator is not, as it goes directly on the heat source. Also note that the mugs are fairly petite, and smaller than a standard coffee mug. I actually like it, because I tend to let my coffee sit around getting cold if my mug is too big!100% recommend this item, it would make an amazing gift for yourself or the car camper in your life! (Going to say it one more time, this is NOT suitable for backpacking. Waaaaaaaay too heavy!)

    A great set

When I first started drinking coffee, a friend gifted me a percolator that I used for many years. Now, here is a much newer one and it makes delicious coffee. I also like the four mugs that came in t. this set. The handles are carabiners. Each is a different color which is quite handy for identifying who is drinking from each one. While this is advertised as good for camping (and I’m sure it is), there is no reason that one could not use this at home. This set would make a nice gift as the summer approaches or anytime.

    Just what I needed!

Really nice set! Percolator comes with an extra glass lid handle if the original gets broken. The carabineer handles on the cups is a great idea. Brews a grest cul of coffee and all items are made well.

Durable and well made, love the stainless

Very very nice set I use everyday. I live on the road so I only use one cup. Size is perfect for me and much better than my conventional camp percolators, which take a lot more time and propane to makeThis fan is a blaster, larger battery and bigger diameter turbine than most. It puts out more air. Seems to be quieter even though it’s larger. I give these two fast food restaurant employees who are tasked with curb delivery and other outdoor tasks. Waist fans fit neatly under their uniforms so they can be cool with the corporate regulations! coffee. Not only is the size more apropos for one person, but also the percolator tube / collector is the right size for the diameter of the pot so it percolates much faster.

Great coffee maker for camp or stovetop

This 9-cup percolator set is perfect for both camping and home use. The stainless steel build feels solid and durable, and the included mugs are a great bonus. Brews quickly, tastes great, and is super easy to clean. If you have never had old-school percolated coffee, this is the way to go!Pros• Sturdy stainless steel construction• Brews rich coffee fast• Great for camping or kitchen use• Comes with 4 convenient mugsCons• Handle can get hot over open flame• Slightly bulky for ultralight packingFantastic value if you want flavorful coffee wherever you are.Pro tips – wait for the coffee to look and smell like the coffee strength you want – you will smell it through the pot and you can see it in the view port top piece. Make sure to let it cool off.

A coffee set that’s worth every penny!

I’ve been on the hunt for a quality perk pot for camping and home use, and have been let down by the quality of other pots. They usually look nice up front but are cheaply made. I tried another brand recently that I had to pitch into the garage sale pile as the enamel was chipping off within a week. The pot and cups are made from stainless steel, no plastic or enamel to deal with. The 9-cup size means there is more than enough for me to have my usual cups in the AM, fill up my travel mug, or share with family. I’d rather not have to brew multiple pots. I like that I can use it on the stove or over the campfire (though I would be mindful to avoid flame near the wooden handle, of course). Exterior measurement lines make filling with the right amount of water a no-brainer. The cups are an added bonus and really make this set an excellent value. The colored carabiners make it easy to know whose cup is whose and make them easy to hang to dry after washing. I use a Nite Ize gear hanger or paracord line at camp for that purpose. This is coming with me to our family Mother’s Day cookout at the park this weekend. We all enjoy coffee throughout the day and this is so easy to transport so everyone can have fresh brew. Awesome!

Surpised how well made it is

This stainless steel coffee set is fantastic! I got it for our family road trip, and after my wife opened the package and saw how nice it was, she immediately threw out our old ceramic ones. I was also excited to spot the exact same set at Costco—it confirmed that I made a great choice. The quality is excellent—made only with stainless steel and glass—so it feels both durable and clean. The four stackable mugs are a perfect space-saving solution for a family of four. I especially love the carabiner-style handles, which make storage simple and even let you clip a mug onto a backpack for added convenience.

The 9-cup capacity is just right for sharing with family or friends, whether you’re around the campfire or at the breakfast table. The included mugs add a nice touch, offering a complete set that’s ready to serve. Excellent percolator, great packaging, tasty coffee

Receiving this thing was a pleasure. It’s obviously designed for gifting. The packaging has some nice explanations outside the box, which displays the percolator and four mugs. The whole package is well designed for giving to someone who hikes and camps.Long story short: this thing is a percolator. This is a normal outdoors or third world way to make coffee, and has been for a long time. It’s not an aeropress. It’s not a french press. If you aren’t familiar, there is no need for a filter, it generally keeps grounds out of the coffee, and I think it makes great tasting and high quality coffee, albeit it is not necessarily ‘crema’ style coffee you can get from a modern electronic machine.Assembly is so simple that I doubt you could get it wrong if you tried to get it wrong.Part 1: There’s a pot/kettle with a wooden handle. This thing did not get hot even while the water was actively boiling. I found it very safe to use and easy to hold. The only strange thing about it is that water level is measured in odd cups (7 or 9 cups would be the two most obvious choices). But whatever. I always make 8 cups, and it’s very easy to just put the water between those lines. Pro-tip: if you’re camping/hiking, find a container for water that is exactly the amount you need to make a pot of coffee, and fill it as the sun sets.Part 2: there’s a slightly conic base and tube that fit into the pot. The base has a small slot at the bottom you may not even notice, but the idea is that water can enter there, boil there, and run up the tube. The tube has a bulge where a basket of coffee grounds will sit. Boiling water will get into those grounds and brew into coffee. Simple.Pro-tip: if you’re going camping with this, measure your coffee grounds in a few individual bags before you leave. It is such a pleasure to just dump the water in, then dump the coffee in, without trying to see it clearly. It’s also cleaner in my experience. The coffee grounds need to be high quality and they should not be a fine grind. The quality of coffee depends entirely on getting a strong, somewhat coarse grind. Too fine, and the coffee will be gritty and even acidic. I recommend avoiding a sweetened kind of coffee, because this means bugs will be attracted to you. You can shop for french press grounds on amazon, and that is a good place to start if you don’t own a grinder. I also have had good luck with cold-brew ground coffee. At any rate, put 1 tablespoon of coffee per six ounce cup of water, and I add one more tablespoon just because I like strong coffee. One note about the basket: on the box’s diagram it sits quite a bit lower than it does in reality. On top of the basket is the last part. It’s this disc that spreads the water. I’d call it a showerhead on a fancy coffee maker, but it really just distributes the water over all the coffee grounds.Put all those parts together and put the percolator over heat. A burner on medium-high heat for 10-15 minutes. A propane grill. A campfire. The exhaust pipe (not the exhaust port itself) of a military vehicle like a HEMTT. Something hot enough to boil the water. It’s helpful, but not critical, that you can see the percolator in action. When you close the lid, you’ll see the glass knob. When the water finally boils, you will see the water bubbling through the glass knob. As it cycles through the coffee grounds, the water goes from clear to dark brown. You can easily hear the water bubbling and flowing. You can also see it. After 5 minutes or so of seeing this happen, the coffee is ready to pour into a cup, but it’s also about 30 degrees too hot to drink. Just pour it, and enjoy the wonderful smell.I do think the design of this one is very easy to use, a bit higher end in quality, and the distribution of the water did seem to make a better product. I had no grounds whatsoever in my mug (and note that the spout on this pitcher does have a sieve providing minor filtration on it). I pour my coffee with the whole percolator still assembled. You could remove the grounds if you wanted, but I like to keep it going because you can keep the coffee warm by placing it in a warmish spot near the fire. You get four mugs with carabiner handles. I found this kind silly until I hiked with this percolator and found it really handy to have a cup on one of my straps. Not just for coffee. You can use this for hygiene, water, etc. It’s handy. All in all, this is not a cheap percolator, but it is really nice, well presented for gifting, and I would totally give this to someone who likes to get out in nature. You can easily pack the coffee into the thing (and you do need to do something to muffle the parts). this one, I’ll keep. I really love it. While you can make better coffee with an aeropress or a really nice saeco machine, this percolator is idiot proof, and you can use it in any condition if you can get heat.
