An upgrade.
Started out with a coffee maker, and a “regular” (Cuisinart) coffee grinder. It was fine. Upgraded to a machine capable of making espresso. Cuisinart coffee grinder? Simply wouldn’t grind fine enough for the coffee machine upgrade. I couldn’t upgrade one without the other, it seems. Fine.I tried one of the manual grinders. They work ok, don’t get me wrong, but with a manual grinder, the grind time increases exponentially with the fineness of the grind. I’m not going to sit there for 10 minutes grinding up some super fine coffee. I have things to do. That’s why I need coffee in the first place. So I got THIS little gem from Biolomix, and it has solved both problems…1, it solved the problem of the Cuisinart not grinding fine enough. And 2, it solved the problem of the manual grinder taking forever. Anything that solves 2 problems for me gets high praise. It grinds very finely and consistently, AND it doesn’t take forever. I can even do something else while it’s grinding. Measuring some water, perhaps. Hey, I don’t have time to waste. Multitask! Gotta keep moving! The icing on the cake? The bits and pieces are fine in the dishwasher. Not the base, though. Please don’t put that in the dishwasher. For that? A wipe down with a microfiber cloth on the outside, and I take it to the garage and blow it out with compressed air from my air compressor. I usually only have to do that when I’m changing what kind of beans I’m using, though. But I do recommend cleaning it out thoroughly when you change what kind of coffee you’re using.Overall, my only real complaint is that it takes up a bit more space than my old grinder. Not by much, mind you. It’s maybe 5-10% taller. It’s not enough to take a star off, obviously, I’m just sensitive to things taking up too much space in my limited space kitchen, lol. If you have room for a giant espresso machine? You probably won’t notice this.Totally recommended / 5 stars, especially if you don’t like to sit around and grind coffee manually. Like me.

Burr-illiant Grinder: Your Morning Brew’s New BFF
Listen up, fellow caffeine fiends! If you’re tired of settling for subpar grinds, this little powerhouse might just rock your world. After two months of daily use, I’m ready to spill the beans on the TBioloMix Conical Burr Coffee Grinder.First things first: this isn’t your grandma’s blade grinder. The conical burrs are a work of art, churning out consistently even grinds faster than you can say “triple shot espresso.” Whether you’re after chunky French press grounds or powder-fine espresso, this bad boy’s got your back. Now, let’s talk features. The LCD screen is so big and bright, you could probably read it from space. Perfect for those of us stumbling around pre-coffee, squinting at tiny dials like we’re trying to crack a safe. And the digital countdown timer? Chef’s kiss. It’s like having a tiny barista living in your kitchen. But wait, there’s more! This grinder can house an entire bag of beans, keeping your coffee fresh and ready to grind at a moment’s notice. And when it comes time to clean (because apparently, that’s a thing we’re supposed to do), it’s a breeze. Most parts are dishwasher safe, and the base? A quick wipe-down and a blast of air, and you’re good to go.Now, no grinder is perfect. The portafilter holder can be a bit wobbly with heavier filters, and it doesn’t manually power off without unplugging. But for around $70, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise stellar package.Bottom line: If you’re looking for a reliable, user-friendly grinder that won’t break the bank, this TBioloMix model is a solid choice. It’s built to last, despite being mostly plastic, and it handles whatever beans you throw at it with aplomb. Your taste buds (and your wallet) will thank you.So go ahead, treat yourself to some freshly ground coffee heaven. Just don’t blame me when you start obsessing over grind sizes and extraction times. Consider yourself warned!

Review for using with espresso maker
It took some practice using the portafiller attachment ring to fill directly into a portafiller. I hold it up against the grinder because if using the cradle, grinds get spit out everywhere. I use for espresso and get a great grind at level 4. When using the timed grind feature, you can dial in the best volume of grounds for the portafiller – I find this more successful than using the preset portafiller “1-shot/2-shot” feature. For reference, I have a casabrew espresso machine and believe the portafiller basket is 53mm

Solid conical burr grinder, ton of great features, I may have been converted
It can hold a lot of beans, and can grind a lot of beans quickly. The geometry of the burrs is something to be admired. The grinds come out very evenly. The screen with the timer and the buttons is huge. Bumbling around in the morning tired? Can’t miss these buttons and the huge display. Really nice. It’s a great feature that you can grind by a digital countdown timer. All the adjustments are super easy to use, the grinder is mostly plastic, but you don’t get the feeling that by adjusting something (or trying to) that you are going to break it. Going coarser or finer, just turn the hopper. To take the hopper off, push the button and turn. All labels are large and easy to see. No squinting, no trying to make out outlines of letters in clear plastic. Taking the burr out for cleaning is also just as easy.I didn’t do a blind tasting, but I made a pretty darn good cup of coffee this morning with the grinder. I’m going to have to do some blind tastings, because TBH, the coffee field is full of hype, and I had lumped conical burr grinders into that hype bucket for years when I owned a coffee shop. I mean, I had purchased coffee from shops that did have the conical burr grinders, but it’s hard to compare someone else’s conical burr ground coffee to your own flat burr ground coffee when you personally selected the beans, tuned all the grinders and the machines to exactly what you want. I liked my coffee better even with the flat burrs. But could my coffee have been even better? Maybe!Going over the grinder once again, I do have to put a caveat on one item. If you are grinding into the receiving hopper and not a portafilter, when you insert the receiving hopper into the grinder, you do get a bit of a feeling like you might break something. If the receiving hopper lid were made out of a slightly flexible plastic like TPU or a rubber, I don’t think you would get that feeling. Even just a rubber seal around the top to take some of that friction away. Maybe it will break in over time, or maybe I will just 3d print a new lid out of TPU.If you are grinding into a portafilter, zero issues.See pictures for close ups of burrs and comparison in size to my other 3 homeowner grinders.Overall, it’s a solid competitor at this level. 5 stars.
