Can I just say that if you need to keep your coffee piping hot while you’re drinking your first couple morning Joe buy a bigger pot. This little 5 cup coffee maker makes two large 12 ounce mugs of coffee. It bruise it up piping hot and the flavor is great. For those customers complaining about the taste of their coffee I believe that to be a pilot error rather than the fault of the pot itself. Try different beans grinds or blends until you find something you like, but don’t blame it on the coffee maker itself.The biggest issue people seem to have with this coffee maker is the lack of a warming plate. How long does it take to drink 2 cups of coffee? I myself appreciate, not forgetting to turn it off and scorch it and for those that say that it doesn’t have a shut off, it does stop drawing power after it’s done brewing. So the heating elements do indeed shut off And you’re not wasting any electricity. I live off grid so this is important to me. I use mine with a smart plug and simply tell Alexa to turn on the coffee in the morning and by the time I’m up and have done what I need to do with my dogs my coffee is ready to drink. It’s perfect. What more do you need? I’m very pleased with this and the small amount of room that it takes up on my counter. I bought a second one as a back up just in case I break the carafe, replacing the carafe costs as much as a whole new machine.

Decent, basic, thin-plastic coffee maker without a warming plate. No auto-shutoff!
Exactly what I was looking for. Low-cost way to make a good cup of brewed coffee. This is not a high-end, sophisticated coffee maker. It does not have a warming plate to keep the pot warm after brewing. You brew your coffee and you drink it. Simple. This machine also DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF.I do not consider the lack of a warming plate or auto-shutoff as negatives. If you need/want these features they are available in many other coffee machine models. They are just not available on this particular model and that is reflected in the lower price. In fact, I didn’t want to pay for those types of features, I wanted a basic coffee maker and this is it!I’ve made many excellent cups of coffee in this machine. I have a separate burr grinder and use good, fresh coffee beans. I have a high-quality automatic espresso machine but it doesn’t make “coffee” coffee (Americano’s are not the same), so I bought this for those days I just want a 12-14 ounce cup of strong coffee instead of (or in addition to!) an espresso.

Good Features & Construction
Bought as a backup as a Coffee maker (To Me) is a big deal so a backup is an easy decision. This seems well constructed with some some features and I have had good experiences with several Black & Decker products in the past so I like & trust the brand.

This coffee maker is just what I needed. It is small enough to fit on my counter and delivers an excellent cup/pot of coffee without over making a pot. All of Black and Decker products work great for me. I don’t usually write a review, but I hope this helps. Now, more COFFEE!! 🙂 🙂

Perfect coffee maker
This coffee pot was the exact size for my small counter space and for a single coffee drinker. I love the fact that it doesnt have a warming plate. As electric bills rise and coffee makers are a big electric draw, this feature on this coffee maker also lets me save money. I dont use the glass carafe, I use the small doule walled carafe that I purchased from Amazon . Taking out the bottom removable plate and let the coffee drip into the carafe and it keeps it hot all morning . The only thing i dont use that cam with this wonderful pot is the reusable filter, that is only my preference, I prefer a paper filter .The cost was very resonable for a pot with all theses features… I love it

No Hot Plate
I gave this five stars, but wanted to caution anyone that wishes to have a coffee maker that will keep the coffee hot. This one has no hot plate, so you will want to keep the coffee in a thermal container once brewed. A thermal coffee mug is included.It brews a small (8 oz) or large (12 oz) cup of coffee quickly and can brew up to 5 cups. It has a permanent filter but can also use disposable ones. The carafe lid is not hinged, and the stand is adjustable so that a cup or mug can be brought closer to the spout.

Perfect for brewing straight into your coffee mug
This does not have a warming plate, but it is ideal for single cup brewing directly into a mug or to go cup, which is the purpose I bought it for. Makes a good, hot cup of joe. Recommended.

A perfect design for many folks
A lot of thought went into this coffee pot. It comes with the travel sippy cup which I am using for water. The quality is great and much better than some other pots I have had recently. The cone with filter has a handle to make it easy to use with no mess. I use the make one cup choice with the riser. Fill my BIG cup with filtered water, pour in the top (good sized and easy to use reservoir) put the cup on the stand. Fill the cone cup with a heaping spoonful of fine coffee grounds and press the button. No pot to wash. Love it.
