I am a coffee lover, specifically the fancy espressos, cappuccinos, etc. I would stop several times a week on the way to work to get a $7-8 coffee which gets expensive! So I decided that I could make all those fancy drinks at home with the help of an espresso machine. I have zero experience or much knowledge about espresso machines so this review is written by an inexperienced newbie! ☕️PACKAGING: The Café Affetto espresso machine comes in the manufacturer’s box & packaging (which would make it very convenient for gifting!). Everything was secure within the box to prevent damage in transit. Packaging is sturdy and everything arrived safely. ☕️ASSEMBLY & SET UP: As I mentioned, I have no previous experience with espresso machines, nor do I know much about them. I found this machine to be extremely easy to get set up. The instruction manual is easy to follow and I was able to get everything set up in under ten minutes. I downloaded the app as well as sometimes that can help with set up. I don’t think the app was particularly helpful with that part but if you follow the manual you’ll have no problems. ☕️USING THE MACHINE: I’m not going to lie- I was a bit intimidated by using this machine at first! I had no idea what I was doing once I got the machine up and running so I looked up a few recipes and went from there. This machine has a bean grinder and I had read that dark roast beans were ideal to use so thats what I went with. There is a water reservoir that you fill- it is removable and slides back into the machine from the top. The bean grinder is next to that. You simply remove the lid and dump the beans in. There is a knob to adjust the coarseness of the beans. I know that this affects the strength of the beverage but since I’m new I wasn’t sure what to go with so I kept it in the middle. Once you have your water and beans you’re good to start playing barista! When you power the machine on, you’ll see on the top of the machines the names of beverages that light up. You simply touch that area (they aren’t buttons, but more like a touch screen) to make whatever beverage you wish. There are options for espresso, americano, my cup, steam, and hot water. I went with espresso because I intended to make a cappuccino. I placed my mug under the dispenser and a light turned on and after a few seconds I had a shot of espresso! The amount dispensed can be adjusted and for this I recommend watching the YouTube videos (I found them through the app). There are a few helpful YouTube videos on using the machine. Next, I wanted to steam & froth the milk so I used the included milk pitcher. The steam wand can be turned to the side for this part. I watched a few videos on making a cappuccino and they recommended having the wand be just below the milk surface and holding the pitcher at an angle. I followed those steps and it worked perfectly! When I had the wand too deep in the milk it didn’t froth nearly as well. Once the milk looked frothed enough I pushed ‘steam’ again to turn it off. I had purchased all the necessary things for a fancy coffee like syrups and whipped cream of course so I added those things to my beverage and I was pretty pleased with my drink for my initial attempt. I know I’ll have to play around with the grinder- I wanted the beverage a bit stronger than what it was. I’ll probably need to research the best beans to use as well. You can make a number of adjustments to this machine and I’ve found the easiest way to do this is through the app. You can customize your ‘my cup’ so that you can have the amount & temperature you wish. I found this to be pretty easy to use, but if you’re unfamiliar with espresso machines I’d recommend watching the Café Affetto instructional videos on YouTube. ☕️A FEW MORE THINGS: I have no idea how this compares to other machines or if it is considered a good value for the price as I don’t know what the machines typically run. I will tell you that I find using this machine to be extremely easy, especially with the help of the app. I feel like it makes it hard for you to mess it up. I love the fact that it has a built-in grinder and has a milk frother. I’ve had to play around with the settings to find out exactly what I like but that hasn’t been hard to do. Cleaning up is very easy- the trays and such are easily removed for cleaning. I’ve not had to descale yet but the app provides step by step instructions for that and it seems fairly uncomplicated. This is a great quality machine- definitely well made and built to last. I’ve had fun making beverages for myself and friends/family and I’m saving money by making my coffee myself. As an inexperienced newbie I would definitely recommend this machine. Its very user friendly and I think anyone could use it.Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Recommend? 👍🏼!Easy to use? 💯!

This automatic espresso machine exceeded my expectations.I normally use my Gaggia Classic Pro espresso machine to make coffee in the morning. This involves a very manual process, including prep of the puck and manually pulling a shot. Typically it takes me around 10 minutes from start to finish, including cleaning everything up.Then I tried this fully automatic espresso machine, which involves putting water in the bin and coffee beans in the hopper, and pressing a button. Within 1 minute you have your coffee beverage. And maybe a little longer if you want steamed milk.There is some trade-off for the convenience. The coffee is not as strong as a manually pulled shot. This espresso machine pull shots at 20 bar, which is very high. Typically I would want it pulled at around nine bars so that it pulls more slowly. For example, for regular espresso shots, in the range of 20 g or so, they pull in about 10 seconds. Regardless, the resulting shot of espresso has nice sweetness, even if it doesn’t have quite as much body as what I pull on my GCP.There’s an app you use to change the settings on this espresso machine, including a my cup button which gives you a range of different types of espresso, including single to triple shots.Even though I really enjoy espresso made from my GCP, what I need a cup of coffee between meetings I can press one button and get a very nice Americano without having to do any work.I do find that the steam wand is not super great. It does an okay job of creating microphone, but there are seem to be a lot of bigger bubbles when I use this one. It reminds me of a panarella wand which injects some air into the milk. I don’t think it does that, but does what it seems like.I do wish that I had a little bit more control of the settings for each shot, including more temperature control, a longer groin time for a slightly higher dose. I also wish it had a lower pressure so that shots would take a little longer to pull.I have my machine set for a 42 g shot of espresso for the Americano, and it weighs in at about 40 g. I think that is reasonably accurate for a machine that uses flow to determine the size of the shot.You can watch the machine brew in Americano in the attached video. I used my coffee scale to show the duration of the brew, and the weight of the espresso and resulting Americano.The machine tells you when to empty the puck bin, but I prefer to do it daily regardless. It will also tell you when it is time to descale.Overall, I am very happy with this machine, and plan to use it for a long time.

Café Affetto is a game-changer if you’re coming from years of using Keurig K-Cups. The difference in quality, flavor, and overall coffee experience is huge.If convenience is your #1 priority, Keurig still wins. But if you want a serious upgrade in flavor and coffee quality, Café Affetto is worth the switch. It’s a more premium, customizable experience that makes every cup feel like a mini coffee shop visit at home.I haven’t owned the machine long but so far I haven’t had any problems. I will update if I do.

I’m a cafe’-fiend (caffeine addict). I drink tons and tons of espresso yearly. Before this, I was a big user of another brand that uses pods. But I encountered one issue, I couldn’t have my favorite blends, or buy beans from small mom-and-pop shops. Cafe adventures are always one of my favorite travel experiences. Now I have access to ANY blend I want.This is a very refined step up above other one touch brand. This is the very first machine that uses any coffee bean in its own bean container, blends it for you, and creates an espresso with perfect creama with one button espresso push. I’m very impressed. If you have any espresso background, you know you have to get fresh beans, blend then because you might not have a blender at home, tamp it, bang it against a trash can when you are done to clean and wash the tamper. It’s a very dirty process. This machine eliminates all those steps. I’ve already blended some very select beans and it has been astonishing.This machine is a nice centerpiece in your kitchen you won’t want to hide this. It looks great anywhere. It comes preassembled, just plug in and clean the tank. You are good to go!I’ve read and watched previous reviews on this machine. Some people had concerns about the temperature of the drink, in the Smart HQ app you can adjust the temperature to your liking. The Milk Frother is actually very effective, just blend at the top to create froth, and blend on the bottom to change the temperature. The machine cleans itself with a rinse every use. I’ve customized “My cup” to always make a double, to blend it longer (so it’s stronger), and to make it the hottest. It’s now my favorite preset. You can adjust the corse of the blend if you want to make it stronger or lighter.The customization on the app is pretty legit, I appreciate the settings. And you can make tons of drinks with this. I think this is my new favorite machine.

It’s designed to be compact and smaller in size so it fits beautifully in most desired areas. It’s shiny, smooth and beautiful. And definitely high end.It’s a smart automatic espresso machine that makes espresso coffee from freshly ground espresso beans and has an optional milk frother for cappuccinos, lates, etc. It has a water tank, a compartment for espresso beans, and a removable base and spill catcher tray.All parts are beautifully designed and assembled with style, quality and functionality. Each part is well thought out and designed with practically in mind. Plus, it’s a smart Wi-Fi enable coffee machine which is really cool because you can manage your coffee from your phone. Super cool.It makes amazing coffee that’s delicious and does it quickly and efficiently. The freshly brewed beans are everything – you can smell and taste the freshness in every cup. Absolutely delicious.The machine is very easily to clean and use. There is no assembly necessary, you just unpack, setup, and use. Stains and messes wipe off easily and it’s an absolute pleasure to use.Regarding cost, it’s definitely a high-end luxury product that’s beautiful and tasty and very well made. Delicious Espresso at home
My wife worked at a cafe many years ago, and developed a taste for espresso at the time. She still goes out for it a couple of times a week, and I like a nice latte or cappuccino myself. So when we had the opportunity to order this espresso maker we jumped at it. Have been using it for about a week and we have loved it so far. It’s not super complicated once you get it going, but I definitely recommend reading through the instructions once before you start. This machine does it all: starting with beans and filtered tap water all the way through pouring you a nice espresso or Americana and then helping to steam or froth your milk. Certainly luxurious on a Sunday morning to have a nice piece of toast and a frothy cappuccino without having leave the house or put on clothes.

I ordered this despite having never ground coffee beans. I guess I’ve always been too lazy. But the price of pods is too high for the three or four cups I have during the day, so I decided to try it.My, the difference! It is actually easier to grind coffee and brew a cup with this machine than to use ground coffee in a standard machine. And the coffee is good, really good! Much better than using ground and even better than those dratted pods.I have Parkinson’s, so anything automatic is much better for me than manual. This thing is really auto. It cleans itself, grinds and portions according to my choices, and using beans is easier for me than the other options. Most of the machines that are in this price range are manual, which I am happy to have avoided without compromising my coffee quality.Lastly, this machine looks great! And, it is smallish, so does not use up much space in my coffee nook. Perhaps you can get better machines in this price range, but I doubt any are all that much better, and not worth picking nits over.I don’t use the phone app, also due to my condition, so it is not reviewed.I am happy to recommend this espresso machine.

WORTH THE EXTRA COST. So simple to use. Use your choice of beans. Just put beans in the hopper, water in the reservoir, press a button and you get fresh ground beans for each cup. Tells you when to add more beans. Adjustable volume and strength settings. Automatically rinses each time when power is turned on, dumps used pods in hidden container and tells you when to dump them. BEST OF ALL… A GREAT SMOOTH EXPRESSO OR CUP OF COFFEE.

So easy to use and adjust
I love this espresso machine. As a former barista I always wanted my own espresso maker, but don’t like the hassle of cleaning after the machine after every use. The only regular cleaning with this machine is emptying out the waste basket, it is quite small so if you are a triple espresso latte girl like me then you will find yourself emptying it out every other use, but it’s not a hassle at all. I love being able to adjust all the setting too, the app is vital for this machine, just make sure the app as well as your machine is updated or else there are some settings you will not be able to adjust. It is quite loud when the espresso is grinding but that is expected and not a problem for me at all. All I have to do is press a button, fill that tank and bean hopper every now and then, and I have fresh shots everyday. It is hands down the best purchase I have made, no longer do I have to go to Starbucks or Dutch bros and spend money as I’m sure I have already started saving money since buying this machine. Luckily I found it on sale for over half off, so if I were you I would wait until the machine is on sale again. Cause I would not have been able to safely afford it other wise.

So, let me start by saying that I’m relatively new to the world of espresso. I really enjoy making mochas for my husband before he leaves for work. I’ve never gotten into the world of “fancy drinks” until just lately, but I’m having so much fun with it!Alright- so the major upgrades that I like from my old espresso machine are many. I’ll start with the built in grinder. So, this is something I didn’t know that I needed in my life. To be honest, I am saving TONS of time with this feature. I also am excited to clear off counter space because I don’t need to have another grinder taking up room on the counter.Also, I don’t need to have the tamper and the filter sitting out. This is a really great benefit! I love having things combined.Other pros: Cleaning cycle to rinse when you power on, hot water dispenser, and TOTAL customization from within the app. The app is really easy to install and then works great to customize your settings down to grind size and temp. That’s amazing! Once you have your setting as you like it, just save it so the one button will brew your perfect espresso tailored to your needs.The only downfall about this is the price. It’s a pretty expensive machine, but it seriously has ALL the bells and whistles, and it’s worth it in my opinion. I absolutely love it! The only other thing that doesn’t work the best for my space is that I need to slide the entire thing out to fill the water reservoir. That’s kind of annoying, but definitely not a deal breaker. I love this machine!Word to purchasers after reading the reviews: you’ll want to download the app. The negatives talk about water temperatures. You can set that in the app. It’s great! I wouldn’t try to use it without the app, because you’re missing out on a lot of the functionality of this machine.

Easiest espresso machine ever
I’ve had this machine for almost 2 years now. Every day I make 2-3 cups of americano coffee. It takes a little longer than my kureg but I don’t have any plastic pod waste.The coffee is outstanding. I use Costco Kirkland house blend beans and haven’t hasn’t problems. Minor maintenance a cleaning. So far I’ve been very happy with it.

I have two of these coffee makers and mostly use them for Americanos.They could not be simpler to use and make very decent expressos and americanos, however with almost no possibility to customize. The steamer for frothing milk is not great but I don’t use it much, would subtract 1/2 star on that account. I had one machine that broke immediately (grinder froze up) but Cafe was very good about sending a replacement (with return of the old one)

This is the best machine compared to my other machine that I bought last year from macys. I am busy single mom with two job not have alot of time to use machine if it’s little complicated to use and a lot of parts to clean after. But this one changed my life easy to use and easy to clean fast coffee machine. Makes my life easy.

Love it
I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here. I was a daily drinker of lattes from the biggest national chain whose name I won’t mention until a year and 6 months ago when the price went up again and I decided enough is enough. I researched espresso machines and decided on the Cafe by GE. It was the best decision I’ve made. I love this machine. Never had any problems using it. I just hope that I don’t regret saying this or jinxing myself down the road.

Great product. At first, I couldn’t make the machine to work. It kept saying add water. I took the white cap in the water tank off. Since then, it worked really well. There was no instruction of taking the white cap off but it was the only way it could make it to work…enjoy…

I used, so far, the Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine + Milk Frother for almost 5 month. The machine works Perfect, all the way. Good Espresso, Super Easy clean, good control/customization (Grind time, Brew volume & Brew temperature) through App. Went already through 5 Descaling cycles, All Fine!It’s import to understand one simple thing: The coffee beans you put in will get you the final Espresso, Good or Lousy. Old roasted beans will give you Less Crema, fresher roasted beans will give you richer taste and More Crema.One advice regarding the Price. $629 it’s definitely a bit expensive, so have patience and you’ll get a decent, around $300, price. Totally worth it!

I used to own an espresso drive-through. I have a commercial espresso machine in My Home. . I wanted something to take with me when I travel and this fits the bill and this is just absolutely perfect the phone app is great!! I have it set so it makes three shots of espresso and I get the froth or going and it makes a great latte!! Great buy!!

I am very impressed with this espresso maker. I moved on from a Nespresso brand with pods that I had for 15 years (that still works perfectly) because I wanted to use fresh beans, and was tired of using pods. This is a total smart appliance, the app works very well and it connects to wifi easily.Pros:- easy to use, one touch and you have espresso.- grinds beans very easily in a small compartment above the unit- connects to wifi quickly- app is easy to use, there’s a “my cup” function that you can customize in the app. It customizes to either a double or triple espresso, lungo, red eye or ristretto. You can adjust the grind time, brew volume and temperature for each option- there an option to customize your preset single espresso and americano with the same customization options.- the knozzle rinses before each use.- the frother so you can make foam for cappuccino or latte- niotofications on the appliance as well a via your phone to add more water or clean the grinds.Cons:- Water tank and bean compartment could be bigger- Google or Alexa connection so that you could operate the machine through your voice. Theres an option for the connection through the app but it’s not set up. Maybe a firmware update in the future.This is a brand new product on the market so not a lot of information on it as of yet online. You have to play with the functions a bit to get used to it. But the customization is amazing.

I wasn’t sure about this little espresso machine, but I had to do something about improving my morning coffee with K Cups. I debated between this and Bambino espresso machine with separate grinder, but after watching a lot of YouTube videos, finally decided that fully automatic would be a good transition from the K Cup. I am very happy with my decision. I am using Fiji water (expensive but essential), Cafe Lavazza Gran Crema beans, I set the grinder to the finest, grinding time to 5 seconds for espresso and my latte tastes chocolatey. It took about a week to get the hang of using the frother, but now I can make a nice cup of latte in a minute or two. It also looks very pretty on the counter. BTW, it doesn’t show on the photos but it does come with a frother pitcher. Smart HQ app was easy to use, you can customize your coffee on the app. Temperature, grinding time, amount of water etc. I set to the hottest temperature but still warm up my cup with hot water in a microwave for 1 minute. Overall, it’s a WINNER!

I really want a coffee maker but my taste is very particular. I was long time ago having a store only dedicated to coffe .So I just found the machine that give me what I want and more .The only thing is the water waste but I did fixed adding the cleaning water to my plants . I have tried a couple different types of espresso beans in this machine and they have been exceptionally good. When I first got the machine I put regular coffee beans through it and the result was terrible, so get espresso beans.I like that it holds a good amount of water and whole beans, neither needs to be refilled very often. When they do need attention, you get a message on the machine and on your phone if it is connected. When you press power it always runs a “rinsing” sequence first to clear the lines, then you are ready to make whatever type of coffee you want. The espresso and Americano that it makes are excellent. I have the “mycup” set up to make a double shot of espresso so I can make iced lattes.TL;DR easy to use and makes great espresso

I wanted to give this the review it deserves but I can’t do a video.So let me begin by saying, this is the best product of the year for me!The Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine is the real deal. I love it so I’m going to point out what I don’t like first. Please be patient:What I don’t like: There is no window or way to know that the water is about to run out. Same with the beans. No way to know how close it is to running out…. THAT’S IT!!!!Because of the above, I try to top off the water and check the beans and waste bin every morning before I start.Beyond that, this thing is soooo awesome.First, it looks sophisticated and professional. It does not get dishwasher cleaned but does not require any heavy cleaning to keep it looking at its best. Just once a week get soapy water in the sink to wash and dry three parts.Next, it’s FULLY automatic ESPRESSO. For me it’s a game changer. I like espresso and I understand that some like the rituals involved with creating a cup of espresso WITH ALL THE POKING, GRINDING, RAKING, PUSHING, PATTING, but I’m more of a “can’t speak, me need caffeine” kind of person in the morning.For this machine, you:* press the power button,* look for a cup while it heats up and rinses itself* Then place my cup under the main spout and press “my cup” (I have it set as a Lungo) or “Americano” and let it do its thing.Literally don’t need my eyes open to get my first cup. I’ve never had espresso easier than that without asking my son to make it for me.Next, the taste. I’m not a certified coffee inspector, connoisseur, expert. But I know the coffee from this machine rivals the coffee houses I have spent 7-10 per cup at. The fact that you can control, the grind size, grind time, two temp settings, amount of water used, and the coffee beans used, while it controls a variable pressure to the grinds as it extracts to insure consistency from beginning to end means this isn’t your average home cup of espresso. It tastes like a coffee house cup every time without exception. I have even used coffee beans I didn’t like and enjoyed the espresso version that this machine made from them. I cant say enough about the taste “This machine makes a coffee house cup of Joe”Last is the value, I did the math, it would pay for itself at one cup a weekday at my local coffee shop in just 10 weeks (2.6 months)I personally drink two cups a day. Best product of the year for me. Hands down. You really need to taste it to know how much on a different level from other machines this is at. And its doing it all by itself. Fully automatically.The app is nice and lets you customize everything.

Simplicity in Espresso
Everything I needed: the ability to pull a shot with a single push of a button. I love espresso and have a Picopresso and a Capresso Pump I use for travel/work. I definitely know how detailed it can get when pulling god tier shots of single origin beans: this machine is not for that. At this point I don’t need that at home so this machine is incredibly fit for purpose.Pros:-Simple, but still has some room to tweak settings via the app-Balanced espresso shots-Small footprint size-Nice aesthetic-Easy to cleanCons:-Frequent refills needed (depends on your volume – we do 4 to 6 shots in a morning)-Won’t pull as much crema as other machines or methods-Flavor clarity: will be tougher to tease out the tasting notes of high end or single origin beansWe’ve had this machine for 15 months so far and really love this thing. Easy enough for my wife to use and very decent espresso for only pushing a button. Considering the amount of volume we do, I’d say the durability is well within expectations. If the machine happens to prove me wrong on that point I’ll use the Asurion plan and update this review.I’m not particularly skilled in milk froth or texturing, but for my needs (cordadito/Cafecito) this works very very well. Heat up time isn’t instant, but fast enough and lasts long enough to heat ~300mL to at least 150.This machine solved for meeting my wife’s preference for iced lattes/americanos and my preference for espresso/cortados. It’s definitely on the list of top purchases I’ve made in the past 4 years. One note is that I’ve descaled the machine 3-4 times in the 15 months and recommend regular cleaning to ensure operation (rinsing the group head, etc).

I used to work at Starbucks. So while I don’t know what it’s like to compete for best barista titles, I do know what bad quality espresso/coffee can be. So far I’ve used dark french roast type beans as well as a dark medium roast type. When adjusted for grind level (feature availabe on the espresso machine itself), the espresso is fantastic! I also loved its simplicity of options for an Americano (espresso + custom amount of water selected via the app), a “MyCup” which allowed me to choose 2 espresso shots and hot water. There’s a second spout that can deliver hot water as well as steam milk. I found the steamer to be just as good as the several thousand dollar espresso machines available. There is a waste dispenser as well as a magnetic drip tray that make disposal and clean up easy. My suggestion is to keep a rag on top of the drip tray to not only keep it clean but also to keep the stainless steel free of scratches.I do wonder how long it will last as the machines make a lot of noise when making the transition from espresso to hot water/steam. I bought the extra warranty to account for that potential failure. This may not be an accurate critique 5-7 years from now but I don’t want to chance it as this seems to be the first semi automatic espresso machine offered by the GE Cafe line. I also think that this has a little bit of a learning curve that Nespresso or Keurig machines just don’t have. It’s hard to beat the simplicity of dropping in a pod versus more control but I would welcome anybody who is used to those machines to try a semi automatic or a regular espresso machine. They’ll find that there’s more control over flavor, and the actual character of their coffee.Overall, I think this was a great purchase for me. Flavor and quality control but the reduced cost of not having to buy Nespresso pods every month was worth it. If you’re wondering the cost breakdown when comparing the repeated purchase of pods versus switching to this? It’s about 15 months for a break even point.

I’ve been on a lifelong quest for the perfect coffee machine and was really happy to get the chance to try this one. My daily machine prior to this was an automatic espresso maker with a steamer… Very similar functionality to this one but without the Wi-Fi connection and app. I loved my prior machine, so it would take a lot for this machine to impress me. And it did impress me…The biggest takeaways were quality of steaming function, small footprint, elegant design, accompanying app, and deliciousness of espresso. Some reviews mentioned weak flavor, but I found it strong and delicious. You can adjust grind size on the machine and are even able to go into the app to adjust brew time and water quantity to dial-in the strength.Setup was a breeze, including getting started on the app. I did not like that it required an email address and phone number, but that is pretty standard with smart devices. I did not have to do anything my Wi-Fi channel in order to set up.The footprint on this one is much smaller than my existing one in length, width, and height, meaning I can actually add water and beans without having to move the whole machine. The smaller footprint is also more elegant in appearance. Even though the other one worked well, it looked sort of industrial for a home kitchen.The steamer is hands-down the best one on any machine I’ve ever owned. It works quickly; has good pressure; is easy to clean; and makes consistent and perfect microfoam.I am in love with this machine and I’m already making plans to permanently replace the other one. If you are looking for an automatic espresso machine with foaming wine, this is a great option.

A new adventure begins!
For the past decade I’ve been using a famous-brand capsule espresso maker and its capsules. In that time, they have discontinued half of my favorite flavors, raised the price of the ones they didn’t discontinue, introduced new, pricier, flavors/origins that I don’t like, and introduced a whole new line of different shaped capsules which might be more lucrative for them. 3rd party offerings were either incredibly inferior or more expensive imports. My main reason for staying with this brand of capsules was convenience, especially that of being able to make a cup of decent espresso while still half asleep, and the small footprint of the machines.Enter the Café Affetto!The footprint is bigger than the capsule machine, but smaller than most home espresso machines. It’s almost as idiot-proof as the capsule machine, and I’m free to experiment with different coffees and brew strengths. Because it grinds the coffee internally per pour, the coffee stays fresher, longer and there is no fussing with fine espresso powder and a tamper before I’m awake. I’ll leave the details to the handful of manufacturer videos on Amazon’s product page, but suffice it to say that the Affeto is comparable to the capsule machine in terms of convenience and ease of cleaning (with not having aluminum capsules to recycle a plus). It offers significantly more freedom in customization and better coffee at a lower price. In a pinch, it can even provide hot water for tea via the steam wand, bypassing the coffee stream entirely thus avoiding the off-flavors produced when tea is made in capsule machines also used for coffee. (Maximum temp 173°, so you will have to experiment with steep times). All settings, including that for “my cup” are pre-programmed but user-configurable from a downloadable app.At $630 at the time of this writing, it does represent a significant investment but it is made with durable materials that are easy to clean and take care of. I can easily see myself enjoying the Affeto for the next 10 years.

Great quality for a low price
I recently purchased this in black after getting tired of going out for coffee daily. As a new mom I am unable to spend a lot of time preparing my espresso and with weighing out beans, grinding and tampering etc it can be quite the process. I was unsure what to expect with an automatic espresso maker however I am pleasantly surprised by how easy the process is and when hooking your machine up to the SmartHq app it’s great to have a reminder of when to add water, beans and when to descale your machine. The taste of the product is delicious every time as I followed instructions and went with a non oily espresso bean. When it comes to the steam wand you will have to keep in mind this is not an expensive machine compared to some on the market and the milk may still be cool after the first steam. I do double steam which seems to do the trick and is not a very big bother to me as the rest of the machine works amazing and is at a great price point. I would highly recommend especially if you are someone short on time or a new mom like me who finds getting a free moment hard.

Love my new Cafe expresso maker!
Easy to use straight out of the box. Used Bongo coffee beans which is excellent. Not sure I understand the smart application for an expresso maker but it works as described. Have been trying to find a slide out tray to pull it out from under the cabinet based on dimensions of 13″ x 16″ but am finding that impossible which is sad. If anyone finds one that fits, please reach out. Otherwise, I am so happy with my purchase.

Mind-Blowing Espresso.
Coming from a DeLonghi semi-automatic machine, this espresso machine is a revelation. Once opening the box, it took but a few minutes for basic setup, and about two weeks to fine-tune the grind, the water level, and the right beans to deliver a superior cup. We reduced the grind further than most ground espresso beans, a slight boost on the water, and done. It usually wouldn’t take me two weeks to suss out the details, but we were legitimately trying to see how perfectly this machine would brew a cup, and it was fabulous. I especially appreciate the quick response of the steam wand, I’ve stood and watched many a cup go cold while waiting for the steam to arrive on my old unit, now the Affetto comes through with a solid stream of steam in seconds. To be honest, we really haven’t tried to brew a cup with the app, we’re latte drinkers, so we need to be there to finish the cup anyhow. If I had to offer a bit of advice, it would be to avoid oily and very dark-roast beans for best results. We tried 6 brands of espresso beans and finally settled on the Illy Classico from Amazon; A little pricey but a refined cup without a trace of bitter notes. The Lavazza Italiano came in a distant second, but points earned for being less than one-half the cost of the Illy Classico at the expense of a bit of bitterness. All in all, owning this machine has been a wonderful experience, looking forward to a future of happy little espressos.

That it rinses every time you turn the power on.. the frother rinses the espresso spout rinses , hassle free less cleaning. LOVE THAT..I have not used the app thus far. Easiest and best espresso machine ever!
I love espresso but it has always been such a hassle to make. This machine is by far the best machine I’ve ever used! It makes amazing espresso and the ease of use is on another level! You put the beans in press a button and you have amazing espresso! I just wish I could’ve got the white one but the silver one was on such a great sale I couldn’t justify the difference for a white machine. Again this is the best thing you will ever buy if your on the edge don’t miss out it’s well worth any penny and these people that say the machine is made cheap and that it breaks are all wrong. They just don’t follow the instructions you can’t use dark beans because of the extra oils but trust me it’s a sacrifice worth making to have such an easy experience making espresso at the press of a button. It has changed my work life I’m always energized now.

Having a near identical end product to other high-end espresso machines at the touch of a button alone is amazing. I was debating whether to get this or the Breville Bambino, being at similar price points at the time of purchase. While it would’ve been nice to learn how to make espresso shots manually, it’s hard to beat the convenience this machine offers. With the steam wand I still get to practice latte art!The coffee comes out at a good temperature, and the machine shuts off automatically. The app took a bit to connect to the machine but it eventually did, allowing me to customize the My Cup button.

Best Espresso with little effort
Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas… my daughter bought me a Nespresso machine for Xmas… I love Nespresso but after trying this machine with the whole bean Gavina espresso beans, Nespresso is like meh taste wise. Additionally, I was having a hard time justifying the cost of the Nespresso pods. They are like $40 for 30 pods; over a dollar per serving. This is so much better in cost and quality. The only difference is that you have to pay a little more upfront for the machine; however, in the long run, you will save much more not buying those expensive pods. I had to get this for myself after tasting it several days. There is no comparison to keurig or nespresso with a freshly ground cup every time, along with cost savings over time. After receiving the product and registering it, I also realized that this machine is actually a GE appliance. They have an app to connect it on WiFi for making your fav cup with one button and other support options. Only downside to app was it was a bit slow and to get the product working with my cup, you need to go under the countertop devices to connect it. Just wait patiently each step and you will get there.

Perfect timing
I love to drink coffee drinks to the point where my mornings have a dark cloud over me until I’m at a drive through. Here’s the thing about getting coffee from a coffee shop daily: the drinks get expensive, not enough milk, syrup whatever, and how ethical is the business you are supporting?I had a semi-automatic espresso machine years ago, but the effort to grind the espresso, then pack it and brew it by hand became too much. I have children, and I am lucky if I can finish my cup of coffee before 3pm when they are both home.I bought this machine as a goal to stop patronizing a big coffee shop for financial and ethical reasons. It wasn’t too big and fit on my countertop nicely. Making coffee is really simple and it has a built in rinsing cycle. The app tells me when I need to descale the thing. And all I have to do is put the coffee beans and the water in, then I can brew the perfect 3 shots of espresso I need to make it through the morning. I’m sure there are even more efficient machines out there, but this machine is my favorite.

I’ve been making espressos for more than a month. I found some pros and cons.ProsSmall size, perfect for dorm or small office.Easy to use, easy to clean.Makes coffee quickly. It takes less than a minute after rinsing.ConsBean hopper designed not great. You need to stir beans into the grinder often. Otherwise you’ll get message.Small water tank.Watery puck. As you see from the photo it produces wet pucks and sometimes it stuck inside.Even though I like this espresso machine a lot. I tried to use different beans and it’s been pleasure to make coffees, steam the milk and clean the machine every day.I haven’t deep cleaned yet but will do soon.

Only used for a couple of days now. I am so impressed with the smart technology. Now my wife and I can have a perfect cup of coffee in the morning tailored to our needs. So much better than a ten cup coffee maker. The preset espresso and americano settings make a delicious cup. Frother works great. The machine uses so much less water and coffee beans making better on our wallet and the environment.

Great smart espresso machine with consistent results
We were very happy to give this automatic espresso machine a try, as we were looking to upgrade to something like from our Keurig machines. Especially since my wife is pregnant right now (and she is more of the coffee drinker in our household), the lack of (cost-efficient and tasty) decaf K-cup options was causing problems, and she was very excited to give this a try and buy decaf coffee beans from Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s.The initial setup was super easy. The included instructions are thorough, and we were also able to set up the machine using the SmartHQ app and connect the unit to WiFi as well. One thing to note here is that the information needed to set up the WiFi is at the back of the machine, so I would probably take a picture of the information first before placing the machine down, as I am sure it will be difficult to read the back of the machine from that placement in most cases.My wife’s initial impression with the decaf coffee beans that she bought has been great. She has been getting great consistent results, in both Espresso and Americano settings. She has mostly been using the Espresso setting, as she likes the stronger coffee.The machine also holds a good amount of coffee beans so that you don’t have to consistently refill, and the container holding the beans is in a good, airtight space to prevent the beans from losing its flavor.The clean up afterwards is also pretty easy. It has a built-in rinse functionality as well, which should help with cleaning the . My wife has just been cleaning out the tray every time, as she finds it easier to just rinse it away after each run instead of having it build up. It might be a bit cumbersome to do every time for some people though, and the instructions mention that the notification to clean will pop up every 8 brews, so I am sure it can be done less often if wished.Overall, we are very happy with this espresso machine so far!

My office has a Miele and it is a great machine, but I can not afford a 5k counter coffee machine. This machine is VERY comparable to the Miele and 75% of the cost. For what it does this thing is TINY.I had a manual espresso set up with a breville duo pro and baratza settle grinder. The manual process became more of a PITA when I had to go back into the office.So I tried out this automatic machine, and after a week sold the manual set up.Now, the espresso isn’t quite as good as the manual set up (a little less strong) and you can’t fiddle with the settings nearly as much.That said, it’s WAY more convenient. In the morning I can turn it on and it does the rinse cycle while I’m getting lunch together. Then I hit “my cup” and run a double while I keep getting lunch set up. Then I have it run a hot water cycle (which is timed), finish wrapping up lunch. And boom I got an extra 5-10 minutes of my morning back.Maybe 5-10 minutes of the morning doesn’t seem like much, but it feels like forever.Small notes: a double or triple brews singles back to back. The steam wand is a panerello. You can program your shots using the app and the app works well.
