    Best coffee maker ever

I bought this Cuisinart coffee maker used through Amazon. When arrived the lid to the water tank was broken and so I called Amazon and they told me to call quicker and that they would send the information to Cuisinart. When I called Cuisinart, the agent did not know that Cuisinart had a guarantee policy. When I informed him that they do, he checked it and agreed that they did. Within a few days, I had my new water tank at no charge. The coffee maker is a grind and brew which I really like. I had been using pods, but they are expensive. Now I am grinding whole beans and then making a fresh cup of coffee. This is the way life is supposed to be.

Easy, hot, good tasting, freshly ground coffee.

I decided to try this grind and drip coffee maker for one. It makes a fresh, hot, great cup of coffee. One cup at a time is perfect for my morning cup with three choices of the ounce size. I’ll buy this coffee maker again, that grinds your choice of beans again.Strength of brew depends on amount of water used.

It’s dirty because they test it

So the first thing is you open it and it looks like the grinder is all dirty, so read the little paper that tells you they test it and clean it as best they can and be glad they test it. And you ignore that and try and clean it and then figure out they cleaned it as best as they can.The grinder works well and just fills the included reusable cup to the right amount in about 10 to 15 seconds.Brewing is a little interesting because unlike some other brewers it takes a min to heat up even after it’s been turned on. It only heats the water right as you brew.I ran into 1 problem with non standard k-cups that have a paper top. There’s something with the way this one punctures and does pressure in a ring around the puncture point that made it so any of the paper topped K-Cups failed and grinds went everywhere.Proper K-Cups work fine. But honestly it’s just kind of nice to grind fresh beans but still have the option to use individual cups.I think the downsides are that there’s not really a great way to put big tumblers even if you took the drip tray away and mounted it up on something there’s still the thing that holds the drip tray that’s in the way you can kind of lean a Tumblr up to it but that’s a thing to be aware of.The water tank does not have LED lighting which is fine because it’s behind it but it’s something you get used to with some of the other ones. The tank is pretty easy to lift up and pull it out so you can kind of take advantage of this being a smaller size Brewer and even the tank being in the back it’s still something that easily can be lifted out and around the side of it if it’s underneath a cabinet. It’s also easy to put it back on it index is pretty well as it’s sliding down and I’ve had no issues putting the tank back in and having to worry about it not being in right.

    Great product

This product makes a great cup of coffee. I read reviews of other customers and they kept saying how messy this coffee grinder and coffee maker is. There is some coffee grounds after you have grinded fresh beans. Its all caught on the trey at the bottom. Wait for a few cups to be made before cleaning up the small mess of coffee grounds. For you OCD people clean as you go. It literally takes a few seconds to dump and wipe the grounds off. It’s like saying you will never cook in your kitchen again because the mess that was made on the stove. The only legitimate concern was people who want to change fresh beans ever few cups. There isn’t an easy way to change out fresh beans. Maybe they could put a small door at the bottom side and you could raise it to let gravity empty the bean chamber. I say just don’t put very many coffee beans in when you make a cup and see the amount you need to satisfy your preference in flavor/strength. I am very happy with my purchase. For the tearing of the k-cup pods, its because you haven’t lined up the white arrows on the plastic k-cup holder provided. This is the black plastic holder you remove to put the grey plastic fresh ground coffee into. When you place the grey holder for fresh ground beans make sure you have the lid open to receive the fresh ground coffee. The machine is smart enough to not continue grinding if the lid is closed not allowing the fresh grounds to enter the capsule and you will have hardly any grounds enter your grey capsule. Someone had mentioned reading the directions. This is a great grinder/coffee maker.

it operates as it should & no issues so far

I’ve had a multitude of different coffee makers, both pods and beans. The last one I had was a Tishcibo and I have to say it was the worst one I’ve ever encountered. It was very complicated if you wanted to get a quick cup of coffee, this one is very simple, very straightforward and it makes a great cup of coffee. It also was highly sensitive and things had to be just perfect or it wouldn’t work and it was most annoying. I don’t find that at all with this machine. It’s very straightforward and simple.it tends to be a quiet machine with the exception of the grinding, which I can’t complain about it all that’s a 15 second process. There are no coffee ground deposits in my cup. They do fly around when the grinding process is ongoing however, they give you a brush to make sure the pod that is holding the ground. The top is clean and you insert it clean and the coffee comes out ground free. There are some grounds that accumulated at the bottom but seriously over the course of several weeks it amounts to less than anyone needs to worry aboutI hope the salad workings of this machine continues. That’s why I went to a Cuisinart. I like the fact that you can grind your own beans and add a pod if you choose or guest chooses.

A unique concept to avoid Hipster guilt!

This Coffee Maker + Coffee Grinder meets my needs and does what it claims. It’s pretty and elegant and requires a small footprint. As a niche device there are some minor deficiencies. But I stand by my 5 rating because no coffee machine can be perfect. Like a lover, sometimes we have to adjust our expectations to have a healthy happy relationship, especially at 6 AM.Convenience: Grinding and brewing a hot cup of joe is easy and fast! No separate coffee grinder or mess required. It provides the convenience of a K-cup brewer without the modern guilt of creating landfill waste. If you happen to be short of beans, just remember that emergency stash of Costco K-cups you keep out-of-site from you lover and friends.Need to Know: Buy extra reusable coffee filter cups. Yeah, yeah, yeah… You’re buying more plastic… More angst! But you still take your own bags to the grocery store, don’t you?! It’s much easier to clean several of them together once coffee time is done, rather than while half awake after your first cup. But wash your cups before bedtime! You’ll be pissed if you have to wash them at 6 AM in a pre-caffeine stupor.Compatible cups are sold cheaply all over Amazon.Tip for Stronger Coffee: After grinding, tap the filter cup on the cabinet a few times, put it back on the grinder, grind four seconds more, tap again and brew. Don’t put so much coffee that you have to force the lid closed.Small Gripes: The water reservoir is bit small. This would be an easy fix for Cuisinart on future generations of this product. The process is a bit messier that my old Keurig (but not bad).

    Great coffee maker!

I luv this coffee maker. It’s exactly what I wanted for grinding my own beans or using pods. Don’t understand the low reviews. I would’ve like a bigger water tank with a handle but otherwise it’s great!

    Great Quality product

The coffee maker exceeded my expectation since some of the views were not that favorable. I have nothing negative to say about it, and I tested most of the functions. Hopefully, over the next couple of months, I can stop buying kcups.

Works well with a caveat or two, good value, good coffee taste, would recommend

We have had our Cuisinart Grind & Brew for only a few days, but for the price, we are happy we choose this one. However, if you want more than 1 cup, we would highly recommend having extra HomeBarista Holders or Reusable K Cup Coffee Pods on hand. Since we generally drink 3 to 4 cups each morning, having those extras holders save washing and drying the HomeBarista Holder between brews. Also, we would recommend using Paper Filters as I find grounds in the bottom of my cup.I read that people were having trouble getting the Removable Capsule Holder to fit in the Reusable Filter Cup Compartment, I saw one photo of the door not closing all the way. The manual doesn’t explain it, but it will fit. The “secret” is to insert it into the Reusable Filter Cup Compartment with the arrow facing Down. The only issue we have so far is we don’t get full cups; each setting (8, 10, & 12oz) delivers ~2oz less than the setting. We hope it will get better with use; I think I remember reading a review where someone experienced that phenomenon. Strange, but who knows. We tried k-cup coffee pods too and they worked perfectly. Overall, we are happy and would recommend it.
