    What’s NOT to love?!

Love, love, love it!! The poor Keurig (pictured here, posing unwillingly next to the DeLonghi) has been neglected after two years of twice-daily use since the DeLonghi arrived!Easy to use, to keep clean, and looks SO BEAUTIFUL, too!

In love with this Delonghi Espresso Machine

There are probably lots of other higher-end machines out there even under the Delonghi brand. However, this machine for the price is a great buy. Nicely built and well packed. The unit is small but efficient. Looks great on our countertop. The espresso comes out with a high temperature in the machine’s default settings. The appliance does not allow temperature variations, but as expressed, the final temperature is perfectly fine. The foamer works well, as long as cold milk is used and a bit of trial and error is needed to get that perfect foam. Highly recommended for coffee lovers who do not want to spend huge amounts of money on more expensive machines.

Nearly perfect espresso machine, well worth the money

As a longtime customer of De Longhi, I have seen tremendous improvement in their machines. I was very happy with my last purchase a couple of years ago but unfortunately my little grandson broke the dial while playing with it, so I bought this new model for a lot more money (don’t worry, there are no dials to break). This is by far the best machine for its price on the market, and in fact it is very near to perfection. Read the (admittedly somewhat complicated) instructions carefully and especially don’t neglect to remove the red plastic cord on the bottom of the water reservoir. Once you have set it up and primed it properly it is very easy to use, just plug it in and press the button to start and the button for the number of cups you want (I prefer2, with that filter already installed) and it works automatically. Make sure the espresso is filled and tamped properly–invest in a separate tool for punching little holes in the espresso (really helps) and the heavy metal tamper, since the plastic oneis not very efficient. If done properly the result is a perfect shot every time, with at least 1/2 inch ofcrema and no, or nearly no, residue in the cup. I prefer using the Capuccino size glasses rather than small cups, and also because you can add another shot or two to the glass if desired (see instructions). However, the crema lasts longer in an espresso cup, if that is important for you. Some have complained about water leaking but perhaps they did not remove the red cord from the bottom of the water reservoir; anyway, I have found no water leaking after constant use for over two weaks. Also, the pressure dial has no numbers on it because you don’t need them, it works automatically, perfectly every time and there is no need to do anything. Just enjoy this lovely gem!

    Great purchase

We have had the best experience with this product! We had learned how to use a manual espresso machine and decided we were ready to upgrade to something easier to use that required fewer steps. This price point was exactly what we wanted to spend without looking like it would be very amateurish or low quality. The pieces are all well made and easy to use. The scoop is a little awkward, but you do get used to it. A big difference between this and the manual we were using is that the manual required a lot of pressure to be built up and therefore very firm tamping. This machine works best, in our experience, if you use the scoop to measure out about 10 grams of espresso, ground finely, which is approximately one full scoop. Then you can tamp with the flat end of the scoop, but just enough to get the grounds firmed up. Otherwise your shot will be under extracted because the water won’t be able to pass through the puck. Now, we did have an issue with this machine right off the bat. The pressure gauge needle wasn’t moving at all when we pulled a shot, even though pressure was obviously building up well enough to have registered. We contacted DeLonghi, whose reps gave us excellent customer service. After describing the problem, they asked that we send a video of the machine working. After seeing that they replaced the machine without any further questions and asked that we send back the defective model for repair. It was a very simple process and the new model works perfectly. I 100% recommend this machine if you’d like to make espresso at home without spending $600 to do so.

Best value for your money. Get it!

I had been eyeing some of the pricier espresso machines, but what kept me from purchasing one was the size of the bigger ones. They didn’t fit in my space.I watched many reviews and after many searches, this is the one I settled on. I am so glad to have made the right choice. This machine is a dream! If it broke tomorrow, I’d purchase a new one. Super easy to use, well made, looks beautiful and impressive, has a much larger water tank than other machines I’ve owned in the past, so you’re not constantly filling it up, and it doesn’t have extra unnecessary buttons or a fake pressure gauge. Each button has a function.I use soy milk or other plant milks and it works amazingly well. I can feel the milk pitcher heat up in my hand within seconds. The frother has two settings, one for heating milk and when pulled down, for frothing. It makes it easy to control how hot or cold you want your cappuccino or latte to be. Super easy and perfect temperature milk each time. Along with my Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Espresso, I have not had a bad cup of coffee since.I stopped going out for coffee, what I have at home is much better than what I can get at the best coffee shops. It’s worth every penny.

Nice Machine, Easy to Use and Delivers Excellent Expresso Shots

For the $150 I paid for this unit, it delivers an excellent draw of expresso with a thick crema. The pressure gauge on the unit is a nice touch, assuring you are getting the required pressure. The milk frother works well and without fuss. The controls are simple and operating the machine is easy and intuitive. If you are fitting this unit in a tight space, be advised that the unit’s height is a bit taller than advertised, as shown in my photos, coming in at 12.25 inches; i.e., a quarter inch taller than stated in the description. As to build quality, it’s hard to say. It seems well built, but it’s all about the components, and for that, only time will tell. All I can say at this point is that the machine performs well, works and looks as advertised, and seems well built enough for the price paid. I’ll revise this review if build quality disappoints after some reasonable use.

    Pulling some shots!!!

Nice little machine. Good looking machine with rather cheap “foreign” parts… but makes a tasty shot of espresso! I can’t wait to have my family over and make them drinks! Especially my coffee loving nieces! I’ve been researching good beans and learning that the key to a great espresso is fresh roasted beans. Looks great on the counter and doesn’t take up much space!
