Still great coffee. I have had it one year and love it.

I previously had a Jura that I used for many years. Then apparently some beans I put in had a rock in it and jammed up the grinder. Contrary to good sense, I attempted to fix it myself. So that finished the machine. This one is excellent, dependable, very easy to use, only wish the water container held more. I highly recommend this one!Update: The clean me symbol lit up. I tried to run the cleaning cycle per the instructions, it did not work and now the machine is more or less frozen! All the online reset suggestions involve the “P” button on the display but my machine doesn’t have such a thing. Any suggestions on how to reset it? Thanks.Later: Called the Jura number. On hold for a long time. Left a call back number. They did call back withing an hour. Lady helping me WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL! Talked me through the steps needed to get it back working. It is now back to normal. Thanks, Jura Tech support! Back to 5 stars!

    Automatic coffee and espresso maker

This Jura works very well. And this model does espresso, coffee, and hot water for tea or other mixes.Need to keep instructions near by as you learn the automatic cycles for cleaning, symbols for drip tray or filter changing. And to keep a cup under the dispenser because it cycles a rinse cleaning after 10 minutes or so of idle time. Also has cleaning requirements with a cleaning tablet and special water filter that must be used.Makes great coffee and espresso and easy to use once you learn the process.Amazon got into me in one day. Some retail stores wanted 10 days for delivery. No discounting but with Amazon credit card you get the 5% credit.

Fantastic for plain coffee or espresso

This machine makes fantastic espresso, coffee, and Americanos. So if you like plain black coffee or espresso but want an excellent cup, this machine is for you! We’ve had it for a year now and love it.It does not have a milk frother or steamer like other Jura models, but that’s what we were looking for. My husband only drinks plain coffee or Americanos and is very pleased with the quality and taste of what this machine outputs. If you like fancier coffee drinks like cappuccinos, etc. then this wouldn’t be the best Jura model for you.It is a more basic model than a lot of other Juras. The interface is symbols (1,2, or 3 beans for strength) and 2 symbols for water volume. Not the most user-friendly, but once you get it programmed to your preferences, you don’t really need to reset it again so it’s not that big of a deal. It also communicates thru red symbols when you need to change the filter or run the descaling program. The other thing to note is that you do NOT want to use really oily beans. That is what I suspect is the source of the problem that some people have had with their machines clogging. We use Lavazza brand Super Crema and have never had a clogging problem. My sister has three Juras (one at home, one at her office, and one at a vacation home). The one at home has made over 30,000 cups of coffee and still going strong. That was her advice to us, is to make sure to use a less oily coffee bean and you’ll never have any trouble with clogging. The one thing that I don’t like about the Jura machine is that the hot water dispenser is not as hot as I would like. I drink tea mainly and I wish the water were a little hotter after I’m done steeping my tea. I talked to customer service and they said that the hot water temperature is not adjustable on any of their Jura machines, so I don’t deduct from this particular model because of that. For my husband’s Americanos, he thinks the hot water temperature is fine.

This is our 2nd Jura in about 12 years. We look forward to our delicious coffee every morning. It produces the most incredible crema.

    Brew Quality Superb

This replaces a Delonghi that had a very troublesome history. Constant mechanical problems. No comparison. Jura is a vastly better brew. Equal or superior to any of the local coffee shops.Jura is nearly silent compared to the very loud Delonghi. New filter system eliminates de-scaling procedure.Friends have told me that Jura has a very good rebuild program. We’ll see how this one holds up.

    Makes great coffee and cappuccinos.

Very happy with this machine. It’s my 4th Jura (I wore out the others). It makes great coffee and cappuccinos simply by pushing a button. The only con is the filters. If you don’t buy the Jura branded filters, it doesn’t recognize it and the filter light stays on even after it’s been replaced. They put a chip in the filter so it knows if it’s a Jura filter or not. Plus, it will put it into descaling mode automatically since it thinks there is no filter. I wish I could bypass that.

    WORKED OUT WELL

I am writing this as a recommendation of Jura’s customer service. The machine sent was defective, and Jura replaced it immediately–well, it took a few days for the replacement to arrive. I actually decided in the interim to change tack and began using a Bialetti Brikka, which makes excellent, very nearly, espresso.

Better Coffee Than You Ever Thought Possible

You really need to like coffee. This machine represents more than a convenience. I think of it as a hobby: the pursuit of the perfect cup of coffee. I think I’ve found it, and this machine has made it possible. A little technical. You will need to read the manual. Don’t lose it. My wife got me this for Christmas and I thank her every day. Beautifully engineered. Very Swiss. Not as convenient as K-cups, but indescribably good coffee for the person who wants it, and convenient enough.

    Never going back…

Phenomenal Machine. It makes delicious cup, after delicious cup, of coffee. And if you like tea, a turn of a knob spits out hot water. The grinds end up in the little bin inside and it’s so easy to empty. It is a premium product, but it comes with premium features. For example: It has an extra chute so you can sidestep the coffee beans loaded on top. (for example if you want more coffee cause you love coffee… but it’s already after 3pm. so you want decaff). So you can drop some ground coffee in the little chute and get a custom single coffee. Only I didn’t realize the little chute required ground coffee!! So I put whole beans in… It made a bunch of noise, but never spat out the coffee. And the light on the front for selecting the side chute was on. I was cursing cause I thought I’d have to spend the day taking this thing apart.. Or worse yet, I somehow damaged it… How could Jura do this to me?! How could that tiny little emblem count as a fair warning?! Why not include a strainer at the top of the chute?”They did none of that cause they took the premium route. Somehow sensed beans instead of grounds and tossed them in the grounds bin! The light was just saying “I’m waiting for grounds bro, you going to do it or what?” No fuss… even when you mess up.I initially bought this for work. But now I’m getting myself one!At my last company they were rocking a 16 year old Jura. No issues at all other than occasionally running some tablet things through the machine.
