I love the strength and temperature controls, which let me customize each cup exactly to my taste. It heats up fast, runs quietly, and the iced coffee setting brews rich, flavorful coffee without getting watered down. The 75oz reservoir is a game-changer—I don’t have to refill constantly—and the hot water on demand is great for oatmeal or tea. Keurig K-Elite Brushed Slate

The Keurig K-Elite was an amazing prime day purchase. I just received it today ahead of time and soaked the filter and set it up with a new stand that I also ordered for it. The price at $94 was amazing and I’ve been eyeballing a Keurig for a long time. When you first turn it on it does take a two or three minutes because it has to siphon the water from the tank into the machine itself and then it takes 10/15 seconds or so to start heating up. Once it heats up on that first initial startup it heats up pretty quick every single time as long as the power is on. This thing works just as good as my mom’s old one that she used to have years and years ago that cost a lot more around the $300 mark. The size is bigger than some but smaller than some so kind of in the middle. The build quality seems pretty decent. Only time will tell how long it will last because I’m not one that uses it everyday. It does come with one filter that you have to pre-soak as mentioned earlier and you can always buy more from here on Amazon.

The “strong” button saves me a lot of extra pods.

My previous keurig was a workhorse of a machine that spoiled me forever. I did typically drink two cups a day with that machine and it didn’t have a “strong” button so I was pretty sure that I didn’t really need that feature. At the end of the day while I’d be happy drinking two cups a day, the strong feature ends up being pretty critical as it has saved me so many pods.I got my first Keurig as a hand me down so I’m not sure its exact model but it only started to fail when I got a bit cocky with using it. This one I feel is a little bit finicky. A few things to know: It has an add water indicator and will not let you do anything else with the buttons until you add water. This is notable because it does have this ability to otherwise let you hit all the buttons while it is heating up (for example set it to strong, choose your beverage cup size/type while it is still heating and it will start when it’s done heating. My other model did not do this.)In terms of the iced coffee feature how this works is that the bottom part where you place the cup is removable so you can use a larger cup size. That’s honestly pretty much all it is, it still brews hot but advises you to fill the cup with ice first.I do like this model but I don’t really like ice in drinks so I just brew normally and put it in the fridge but I know that wouldn’t please everyone. But either way you are getting about the same thing.I did at first feel like my coffee (same brand) tasted slightly different with this machine, like actually less strong on the normal (not strong) setting. But now I just use the strong setting most of the time to save on pods and I drink one cup a day which never would have been possible before, I always needed two. So I would say it balances out in the end.IDK if it matters but I drink caribou coffee with this. It’s medium roast. I know some people go for a really dark roast but I prefer medium. There was definitely a slight taste difference when I switched machines and I wasn’t sure if I would get used to it but I have.I hope this is helpful. Overall I like the machine but I do feel like with the extra settings I’d say it’s a bit of a finicky piece of electronics. But the strong feature saves me tons of money!Final note: It also has a descaling “feature” where it lets you know when to descale which, if it works like the add water feature it probably won’t let me do anything until I descale the machine. So, I bought descaling fluid ahead of time, and you descale every 250 cups which I realized is like after almost 11 packs of coffee at the larger size. Not bad but I haven’t been prompted to descale yet and I’m a bit nervous.I did find out that the pre-made descaler pod things don’t clean the whole machine well so I got the fluid. I’d also be tempted to just do it with vinegar but that messes up your coffee taste at least for a while? Anyway, I haven’t had to deal with it so if there’s anything major I have to add to this review I’ll try to at that time. (I’ve had the machine a while but it hasn’t come up yet since I’m using so many fewer pods.)

    Less noise, much better coffee

This is the 2nd Keurig machine that I have owned, the previous being a K145 OfficePro that I had for almost 10 years. I bought the new machine because the K145s cup size selector switch started to malfunction, probably from the contacts getting worn out from use. Being an engineer, I know that this only happened because of inferior design and/or parts quality. Neverthless, I was able to grab this unit on sale for labor day. I’m not sure if I would have paid full price for it, but it seems to be worth what I paid. I have made several observations after using this machine for over a month, hopefully to help the rest of you make an informed buying decision.Pros:- Makes better coffee than my K145. I would imagine this is due to Keurig changing the time and/or water delivery speed of the brewing process. Using good-quality K-Cups, it makes coffee on par with using a good-quality drip machine (like my Ninja). The coffee is notiably richer and more full-bodied compared with the K145 using the same K-Cups. This was a surprize to me, as I expected just a more expensive version of the old machine. Being that I love good coffee, this alone would have justified the purchased in my book.- The pump makes half of the noise that the K145 did. This is also a plus because I get up early for work and don’t want to disturb the rest of the family. The brew time is about the same.- The machine now allows 2 extra cup size selections — 14oz and 4oz, 1 larger and 1 smaller (by 2 oz) than on the K145.- The machine will dispense hot water to make tea or hot chocolate. I can’t comment on this feature yet, as I have yet to use it.- The water tank is 20%-30% larger than on the K154, leading to more time between refills.- This machine is compatible with non-Keurig K-Cups, as there is no barcode reader in the machine. Don’t get me started.Cons:- The water tank was a product of the ‘function follows form’ perspective of some marketing idiot. The tank doesn’t have any convenient surfaces to grip it in one hand, and due to it’s compound curves is difficult to reinsert into the machine correctly. It’s a 2-handed operation, due to their wanting to hide the water tank and make it look like the other half of the machine from an industrial design perspective. Mildly annoying.- The water tank doesn’t have a window on the front to check the water level. Another brilliant design choice. Now I have to peek around the side to determine how much water is left.- The menu system of the digital pad is mildly confusing, and takes a little getting used to. It’s not terrible, but it could be more user friendly. Playing with the settings using trial and error is more useful than trying to read the manual, which was probably written by the same person who designed the water tank.All-in-all, the better quality of the coffee, the larger water tank, and the quieter operation justifies the upgrade. Reccommended, with a few reservations.

Essential — saves so much money

I bought this to replace my 11-year-old Keurig that was performing erratically. I specifically chose this model because of the iced coffee feature, since I had been making morning coffee at home with the Keurig but then purchasing iced coffee from a shop in the early afternoon. I love having a new Keurig that works well (an 11-year life span for the previous machine seems very fair and I passed the old machine on to a friend who didn’t care about its flakiness), and I love having the water filter feature as well as more size options. But the iced coffee feature is a total game changer. Yes, I have to supply the ice, the insulated cup, and the oat milk or cream, but this machine makes better iced coffee than my local coffee shops for a fraction of the cost — and without any wait time!

    Works and looks great

Took a couple minutes to get the hand of the controls but it was easy to navigate. Nice looking device and holds a lot of water so doesn’t have to be filled as often as the previous one. Seems to heat up pretty quickly as well so less waiting.

This is my first digital Keurig

I have had keurigs for many years but this is my first digital Keurig and I got it for a good deal during Amazon week and I am still trying to figure out how to set up the timer for the morning because the instructions are not a big help but the timer isn’t that important to me because I don’t wake up at any certain time in the morning but it does shut off by itself and I used to drink one cup of coffee but now I drink 2 every morning I love it so much especially when I use the strong button I’m going to try the iced coffee feature today and see if I will enjoy one love all the features of this Keurig I’m really happy with it
