Best Grinder EVER!
Hi everybody!I bought this particular Krups coffee grinder mainly because my mom has one that is coming up on 20 years old. As the saying goes, “they just don’t make em like they used to.” Or do they? The answer is YES. Side by side comparison of the 20 year old white Krups, and my brand new black Krups revealed almost no difference. They are identical. You know what that means to me? It means the company knows they make a great product that lasts for years, so why change it? All I can say is I wish Krups made cars. So, about the grinder… It is very simple and straightforward. A powerful machine with one purpose: to pulverize anything you put in it. I mainly use mine for coffee, but I also use it for spices occasionally. Normally I hand grind all my spices in a mortar and pestle. I have even used it to grind my home grown dry chili peppers to put in a shaker. It works beautifully! The only problem with that is cleaning, but its not fair to fault the machine for that. After all, it was meant for coffee beans. It does take a bit of work to clean it without damaging it. You can’t exactly put it in the dishwasher. I used a dry toothbrush and toothpicks to pick out all the spicy mess. I assume I got it all out since I don’t taste any chili pepper in my coffee. Heck, for 20 bucks, its worth buying a second one just for spices! This is a great grinder! It is well built and very powerful! There is no doubt in my mind that this one will last 20+ years just like my moms!UPDATE 2/2016! It’s been about 4 years and this grinder is still going strong! I use it about 2 to 3 times daily. I haven’t had one single problem with it, and I have not had to perform any sort of maintenance except for the occasional cleaning. I have noticed a few gripes from other reviewers that I would like to address:1. Hard to pour the coffee into the coffee maker from the grinder. Really? Come on. Grind your coffee, turn the thing upside down with the lid on, give it a few taps, and pull the lid off in the upside down position. Now you have a nice little container of ground coffee to pour it into your machine. It’s not brain surgery… you can do this. Give it a try!2. Oval shape hinders the circular flow of beans while grinding. I have found this only matters when you overload the grinder. Keep it to level with the top and you’re golden. If you’re like me and insist on filling the thing with a huge heap, then do this: I solved this by pulsing the power button 5 or 6 times. While doing that, you can watch the grounds circulate top to bottom, not round and round. Either way, your beans still get pulverized, so who cares?3. Comparing this unit to a high dollar burr grinder. NO! STOP IT! This is a $20 blender type (for lack of a better term) It’s not a barrista’s wet dream $300 burr grinder. It’s just not, no matter how much you want it to be. If that’s what you were expecting when you dropped a whole Jackson on this one, you must enjoy disappointment. It’s like comparing apples to.. hmm… applesauce.. yeah, applesauce. Lets go with that.4. Too loud. I saw one reviewer that described this unit as “deafeningly loud” which I had to chuckle at. Granted, it’s not exactly quiet, but it’s not “deafening” in any sense of the word. If you’re one of those spastic drama queens who overly exaggerates everything, this one is not for you. The grinder is basically a drill motor with a tiny lawn mower blade on it. It’s gonna make some noise. I’d say it’s comparable to a hair dryer on low. I am rather biased on the noise level though. I work in a steel mill, so to me the noise level is no big deal. Take that for whatever it’s worth to ya, but it’s hardly deafening or I would most certainly be stone deaf by now.I will update again sometime in the future! ta ta!10 YEAR UPDATE!!! I have nothing to complain about.. literally nothing! This grinder still works just as good as the day it was new! Considering at least a pot a day sometimes more, we are talking over 3,650 uses. That also makes my moms grinder I mentioned 30 years old and hers is also still going strong. I challenge you to show me any product that lasts 10 years without a single problem. Some may say “Its not the years, its the mileage.” which is true to an extent… however, I am not nice to this grinder.. Its not a once-in-a-while thing. Its had daily use since day one. We’ve been through a lot together and she’s got a lottta rough miles on ‘er… but the most important thing is she’s still here and just won’t give up.

Not messy, good value for the money, great grind quality
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The design is similar to other coffee grinders, so don’t settle for look alikes. The grind quality is superb, and you can easily adjust for the fineness of the grind. The grinder is well constructed and feels substantial. I won’t write a review until I have used the product for a while to see if it stands the test of time. This one has. All grinders are noisy, but this one seems buffered. Great for your early morning coffee. So easy to operate. You don’t even need to look at the directions. It is so intuitive.

Vortex is quick and easy to use!
The vortex is an upgrade from the Krups version i had. My old one broke and i loved it so much that i wanted to replace it with one just like it. The grinding cup is nice and deep. It is very easy to use and simple to empty. I drink a lot of coffee, so I take a few minutes and grind a bag. It takes around 5 or so times for a whole bag. But if you want to grind fresh for a single cup or pot, it us quick and easy! The vortex is about 4 inch in diameter and about 6-7 inches high which makes it easy to store. This is my second one so, yeah, i highly recommend.

My Perfect Grinding Companion!
I’ve been using the KRUPS Precision Electric Coffee Grinder for about three months now, and it’s become an essential part of my kitchen! While I primarily bought it for fresh coffee beans, I’ve discovered it works amazingly well for grinding tea leaves and various herbs for cooking too.The power this compact machine packs is impressive – it reduces whole coffee beans to the perfect consistency in seconds, whether I want a fine espresso grind or something coarser for my French press. The precision settings actually deliver noticeable differences in grind size, which has helped me fine-tune my brewing process. What I particularly love is how compact it is – it takes up minimal counter space in my small kitchen but performs like a much larger appliance. The sleek design looks great sitting out, and cleaning is surprisingly simple with the removable components. For anyone looking for versatility beyond just coffee, this grinder handles dried herbs for cooking beautifully. I’ve used it for everything from grinding spices to creating my own tea blends. The sealed operation keeps all the aromatic oils contained until you’re ready to use them. This KRUPS grinder has definitely elevated my coffee experience while proving itself useful for multiple kitchen tasks!

Well Thought out …
I have to say that I’m rarely impressed at product quality anymore because I hardly ever see it.Even some of my favorite brands of just gone down the toilet. This one though surprised me.Whoever designed this coffee press must drink coffee because the removable stainless steel container that the coffee beans go in is brilliant! 🤓One of my pet peeves of coffee grinders is how do you clean out the inside bowl without getting water inside of the mechanical mechanisms? This solves that issue flawlessly.Well thought out …Furthermore, the grinder is absolutely beautiful.Grinders are usually one color and you might get a modern one but they’re just a grinder. However, every time I look at this one, I think it’s very elegant and beautifully done.Again, well thought out.Another thing I really appreciate is the ability to wrap the cord underneath it and tuck it away in the corner of the kitchen.Again, well thought out …The one drawback, if you can say that, is the lid.I’m a neat freak and so I want that lid completely dried out before I place it back on the top of the grinder. That’s almost impossible to do with a cloth, though, because you just can’t get between the two lips on the lid.Having said that, I found if I lay the lid on sideways on top of the grinder the air will get up In between the lips of the lead and it will air dry eventually so I’ve come to peace with that.As for the grinding of the coffee while that’s just a whole other level. For one it is incredibly quiet.I felt like I went from using a tank to using a fan.The quietness is unreal. Living in apartment I’m always concerned that people in other apartments can hear what I’m doing and with this grinder I grind anytime I want because I know it’s so quiet.Well thought out …The grinding of the beans is amazingly fast and thorough.I did struggle with that at the beginning as some people on here have stated here but I found as a coffee press user if I do five spins – possibly six – I get the beans just about where I want them.Perfection isn’t my goal – I’m just looking to make sure that my beans aren’t too ground but yet that they’re ground enough so the beans don’t get caught in the mash of the coffee while making a decent cuppa coffee.I will definitely keep coming back to Krupps and looking at their products because this was so well produced and thought out. I was truly impressed, especially for the price. To be honest, having lived in Germany, I don’t know why I’m surprised because the Germans are really good at what they produce/build.

Remains the absolute best coffee grinder
This is the absolute best grinder I’ve ever used. I didn’t want to write a long drawn-out review, but it’s so useful I felt compelled to write something.I always do a lot of research before buying anything. I’m definitely THAT guy. This made it on a short list of grinders after an absurd amount of time (literally hours) of researching and watching videos. It’s probably a sickness doing that thorough of research for a sub-$50 purchase, but I digress. After that research I pulled the trigger and bought this one, and couldn’t be happier I did. That was a little while ago, probably a year and a half, and I’ve bought multiple ones for my friends since. This grinder has an extremely consistent grind and achieves that grind in literally seconds (not hyperbole whatsoever). It has a reasonable capacity too. It’s not Marianna’s-Trench level of capacity like some, but it doesn’t feel like I’m grinding coffee for ants either like some others. It’s perfect for making a batch of brew.It has held up very well under pretty hard and consistent use, with both my toddler son and me battering it to get coffee unpacked after a fine-grind.It’s even easy to clean. I use a dry napkin, get the majority of the leftover, then just run the metal part under the sink on low. It fills up, I pour it out, wipe it down and botta boom botta bing, it’s like new.Super simple, effective and straightforward kitchen tool.Definitely get it. Use my research-sickness to your advantage and just get it.

Krup grinder saves time, energy and easy to use.
This Grinder saves time, energy and easy to use. My wife was using the old mortar and pedestal to pulverize pills to medicate her horse. The pills were flying everywhere all over the kitchen counter and floor. I found this Krups grinder with stainless steel blades and a cover to contain whatever you need to grind for under $20. Place the product you want to grind, replace the clear plastic cover and push down for a few seconds. What used to take 15-30 minutes, now takes seconds and contains the product within the grinder. No fuss, no muss, done! Now only if we can save her horse…..German quality and engineering. We’ve owned many Krups products from coffee makers to meat slicers and have been very satisfied. What are you waiting for? Order one!

Still working 11 years later for espresso grind
I’m only writing a review because I came back to this page to purchase a second one for full-time office use, and I realized that this grinder has withstood the test of time. I bought this specifically to grind beans for espresso. I have a Bella machine (also bought 11 years ago on Amazon), and that along with this grinder make the best americanos. I time my grind for 20-25 seconds, and it turns out perfect. No problems with over-extraction and, quite frankly, always…always tastes better than any americano I can get at the cafe. I would highly recommend this grinder.

Favorite coffee grinder
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Loved my krups grinder I’ve had since 1990… yes, 35 years. It still worked fine but someone tried to grind something super hard in the old one that it wasn’t designed for. I can’t even remember what it was. It chipped, cracked the edge of the lid all the way around the entire lid, way back 35 years ago, but it worked so well and never fell apart, so, I kept it and have ground coffee beans in it regularly since then. When I came across this one- IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE OLDER ONE that works perfectly. I thought… well, for this great price, I’m going to try it and see if it’s as good. IT IS! Now I have a pristine grinder that works just as good as the original. VERY happy!
