    You should buy this one

I have been using this pot for three years now and it has worked perfectly. It is quiet and fast. I like the function that it shuts itself off after one hour, I shut it off after it is done anyway. If you use good coffee it tastes good when room temp, at least that’s the way I roll. Highly recommend.

    Excellent machine

Just a great machine. Nice eye appeal, compact, easy to operate, and makes a great cup of coffee. I bought a Melitta machine for more $$$ which functioned well. Unfortunately, they saw fit to equip it with a $.99 electric cord. Stiff as a board and it failed prematurely Perhaps Melitta should stick to making coffee filters. Moved to this “Beauty” and am a “Happy Camper”. I did read the Krups reviews and as far as the water tank lid, i applied light pressure to take it over center a couple times and it stays there just fine. No need to “John Wayne” it, just LIGHT pressure. P.S. The Krups cord is heavy duty and pliable.

    Small Perfection!

I recently decided to try a new 5 cup coffee brewer. I had been using a Cuisinart which I liked, but I wanted to try out a different machine. I started with the newer version of the Cuisinart. I was using (5 cup).I liked it well enough, but I didn’t love the form factor. So I tried out this Krups coffee maker.I much prefer it!It’s a much smaller footprint. It’s very simple and ergonomically, It just works as it should. I like the fact the carafe is glass so you can see how much coffee is left. I like the feel of the carafe handle more than the Cuisinart. The handle is bigger and more comfortable. I like the construction of the coffee holder basket. It’s clean and well-made. I like the water level indicator on the right side and the power button which very clearly indicates when it is on or off. It brews very quickly And does an excellent job. Another plus of this unit is that the heating tray is a little bit hotter than the one I was using previously. And it keeps the remaining coffee at a perfect temperature. So now I am a huge fan of Krups. So much so that I decided to get their new GX450 coffee grinder. I’m loving that too. It works really well and it is super cool looking. 😊So all in all, I highly recommend this crops 5 cup coffee maker it’s perfect! 👍🏻

    Just right.

This is perfect for our needs. Not too big. Not too small. And, it doesn’t have all the unnecessary features.

Great little coffee maker. Only my wife drinks coffee daily, so this is just the right size. It is replacing a 3 year old noisy, gurgling and slow ‘name brand’ one that has also rusted at the warming plate. So far she loves it. No bells and whistles, just quiet, fast great coffee. She uses disposable filters so there is little to no clean-up. Unlike other reviews the lid stays open when filling the unit with the carafe.

Favorite reason to wake up every morning

I’m a coffee enthusiast. With any hobby, you can spend SO MUCH MONEY, and you reach a point of diminishing returns. Coffee is no exception. However, this coffee maker meets the perfect mix of value and performance. It is easy to use, and every cup of coffee is consistent, hot, and flavorful, providing you make it in the same way. The machine itself looks quite nice. The three buttons, right to left are:Power – turns it on. Turns it offHalf Capacity – This does something with the warming plate when you make a smaller pot. I make 750mL a day, which comes to be 5 cups on this machine. I keep it turned on.Blooming – This alters the brew cycle to pour some water over the grounds… pause for a while, then brews the rest of the pot. I’m undecided on this feature, but my girlfriend prefers it.Use and cleanup is easy.1. Pour water into the water reservoir (max 1250mL) Tip: I use a pitcher that only ever contains clean water for this. Instead of using the carafe like is common. This helps everything stay cleaner, longer.2. Add beans into a cone filter. Put that filter in the container.3. Turn it on. Wait a bit. Drink Coffee4. Toss grounds, rinse stuff off, let it dry for tomorrowIf you’re this far in the review, you’re probably someone looking to increase their coffee game. And you’ve probably read about ratios of beans to water etc. 1:16, 1:17, 1:18 etc. I actually prefer mine on the weaker side (so I can drink more without getting jittery!) And with quality ingredients and equipment, you don’t need to make a cup of sludge to have any flavor. My preferred ratio 1:18, or with numbers — 40g of beans. 750mL of water. Finally if you’re still reading, here’s my personal ranking of what makes good coffee:1. Good water2. Good whole bean coffee3. Grinding your beans right before brewing in a4. Good grinder5. Measure your beans and water and keep it consistent6. The coffee makerSo yeah, it makes a difference, but not as much as like the first 3 do. This was the last piece of coffee equipment I upgraded, from just an old Mr. Coffee drip, and it is better. but not as night & day difference as switching to whole beans ground early.

Unbelievable! Once I understood the descaling function.

We own a Moca-Master coffee machine at our Airbnb. Whilst it makes excellent coffee it is a little awkward to use and the drip stop mechanism is useless (even though we have purchased a new one).So to my surprise, after reading the reviews, I purchased this similar Krups model. I ran 2 pots of water through the machine, as instructed, and then took the same coffee, paper filter and water and brewed my first cup. Being more of a technical person I found the review claims that the coffee tasted smoother and generally better, somewhat impossible. However, I can attest that this is actually the case. Another plus is that all the annoyances of the Moca-Master are resolved with this machine. I could not be happier as I am a heavy coffee drinker and now have fabulous tasting coffee!!*****UPDATE!!!!!After 32 Days the machine appeared to fail. It was impossible to shut it off without unplugging. I called Krups who offered to repair it with an anticipated turn around of “4 WEEKS”. Not acceptable. I called Amazon customer support, who were great, and allowed me to return the item for a refund. I then purchased another unit. After 30 Days the machine appeared to fail again!! I read the instructions fully “AGAIN” and can find no indication of a resolution to the issue. The problem is that the On/Off light starts to flash on and off and the unit cannot be shut off. The only way to shut it down is to unplug from the outlet. Note that the normal keep warm function is indicated by the on/off light coming on and fading off. This indication is a flashing ON and OFF.I called Krups AGAIN. Fortunately I was assisted by someone who now was aware of this issue, which is only an issue because of a poorly written instruction manual. The unit is indicating that it needs descaling!! The procedure for this is in the manual. The Krups assistant also spoke to their technical department and established that this will happen on a per use cycle, which is why my units ‘failed’ at almost exactly the same time. It is my estimation that it is set at approximately 100 uses.I followed the descaling process per the instructions and the machine returned to normal operation. My feedback to Krups was to amend the instruction manual to make customers aware that this power switch flashing is a function of the unit and NOT A FAILURE!!!

    Great Value for Great Coffee!

I struggled to find a simple to operate coffee maker that also brewed rich coffee and fit in a small space. I first purchased an expensive coffee maker which lasted about 5 min. One of the buttons when pushed fell inside the base of the machine. So after returning this faulty machine, I researched best certifiedcompact coffee makers which made top notch coffee, offered great value for the money, looked nice on the counter, and had a glass carafe. Krups had the answer! It even offered an extra blooming function. Best coffee maker which I have ever purchased.

    Hot and Easy 😀

Have to give this one 5 stars. I have had expensive and budget coffee makers and this one seemed like a nice middle lower end compromise. I have no need for timers and strength settings and the last thing I need is another clock in the kitchen so I got the 10 cup one button model. Press one button and you get good hot coffee. The blue button light is pretty bright so you know when it’s on. I have only two minor issues. The auto shut-off after an hour I wish was a little longer and It’s a bit of a challenge trying to tip the carafe enough to empty water into the fill tank. The way the carafe curves in at the top a little water stays in there unless you angle it just right. Both minor so no big deal. I would definitely buy this again.
