    Flawless

I love the OXO cup coffee maker. Was perfect size for my wife and I however needed more volume for when guest visited. This 12 cup OXO exceeded our expectations in every way. Makes a great cup of coffee. No drips. Carafe empties out well. Expensive but great value for the money.

    Brews Strong

We finally had to give up our previous Cuisinart pot, which had lasted for years. We wanted something reliable that will hopefully last for as many years. This is a very attractive pot and easy to care for. The water reservoir will retain moisture so I just put a small prop in the lid after brewing is complete and let it sit for half a day or so until the reservoir is dry. The rest of the components come out and wash and clean easily. A dish scrubber will easily fit into the carafe, since your hand won’t. Don’t forget to remove and rinse the “shower” head because coffee splashes up on it during brewing.I made 9 cups of coffee and followed the instructions in the booklet to use 9 level scoops. Unless you love extremely strong and bitter coffee do NOT use those instructions. We like strong coffee, but this was ridiculous. I’ve been gradually reducing the number of scoops each day and have even tried a lighter blend coffee. I’m finally back to using half the recommended scoops of our old standard coffee and while I still think the coffee is bitter (this is the same coffee we’ve used for years and it never tasted bitter to me in our old pot), it’s at a strength that is reasonable. I’m also not sure if I could afford to drink much coffee by using one scoop per cup! We’ll keep the pot and I’ll keep searching for a way to cut the bitterness but I’m not exactly thrilled, given what we paid for it.I upgraded to 5 stars after following the instructions to use filtered water. Our previous pot had a filter in it and it never occurred to me what a difference the filtered water could make. The bitterness is gone.

    Awesome Coffee Maker

This OXO 12-cup coffee maker is wonderful. Iโ€™ve used it for about a month and itโ€™s working beautifully. It makes a perfect cup of coffee and brews quickly. I donโ€™t find it to be noisy although, of course, when the coffee brews the water is audible as it pumps through the machine. I like that the water chamber is made of glass. The โ€œshower headโ€ through which water drips is very easy to remove for cleaning – and actually the entire unit is easy to clean. The coffee comes out very hot – perfect temperature. I saw some reviews that the carafe does not keep the coffee hot enough and I disagree. The carafe is not air tight โ€” coffee has to drip in and pour out. But it keeps the coffee piping hot for at least 2-2.5 hours based on my testing. After that, the coffee does cool some but since it isnโ€™t burning on a warming plate (GROSS), I can pop my last cup into the microwave for 20 seconds if needed. The auto-programming feature works perfectly. I also bought one for my sister and she thinks itโ€™s great too. The machine looks clean and contemporary on the countertop. FIVE STARS for this machine. If there were anything to improve, it would be to make a gold tone filter that fits the standard (12-cup) basket. As it stands now, you have to buy OXO paper filters for this machine. I donโ€™t mind doing that but some folks find the continuing purchase of filters to be annoying and not environmentally friendly. Finally, this machine is easy to clean. I saw some reviews complaining folks could not get their hands in the carafe to wash or dry it. I use a bottle brush to scrub the interior, no issue. I then turn it upside down while propped on a lift to air dry. If I need to dry it quickly or remove trapped water, I use a pair of tongs to stuff a paper towel in there to dry. Easy.

You Get What You Pay For

This was more money than we had planned on spending on a coffee maker, but, honestly, I wish we had done so a long time ago. My wife & I both work from home @ 10 am. Every day we set it to brew at 9:30 am (which–I forgot is a really nice thing to wake up the sound and smell of a coffee maker brewing down the hall in the kitchen.) The carafe on this thing will keep whatever leftover coffee in it warm all day. A friend visited the other day around 8pm and asked if we had any coffee. It was STILL WARM! And DELICIOUS. So smooth. Build quality is very satisfying. The water reservoir is real, actual glass. The water heats up SO FAST. The controls are easy to use. The time is even easy to set (which never happens.) I chose this model by OXO over their smaller 8 cup model which was recommended by former World Barista Champion James Hoffman after watching him test and rate home coffee makers on YouTube. Basically, we got this one after another Amazon reviewer mentioned that the smaller capacity unit was different in that it was turned sideways taking up a wider footprint on your counter. We have a coffee station in our pantry and wanted one with a narrower footprint. Definitely would buy again.

Almost Perfect & Best Thermal Carafe I’ve ever seen.

I am coming from a Ninja Dual Brew Pro that I loved everything about except it’s brew temperature not extracting enough flavor out of my beans. I also have owned Mocha Masters, Cuisinart, and Delonghi brewers that was SCA certified that I ditched do to terrible carafe designs.Carafe1. Best carafe I have ever used. I used to be a Coffee Ambassador for Starbucks in the days when they sold brewing equipment and have the and since had a variety of these. I don’t use glass with hot plates because they destroy coffee and I’m a purist.2. The picture is showing the temperature of a slightly less than half full carafe of coffee that sat for 7 hours. At 7 hours the coffee was temping at 148 degrees. Most run of the mill coffee makers only brew at 150-170 and out put a cup at about that temperature. This is highly impressive.3. The lid design doesn’t allow a lot of space for heat to escape – and it’s brewing process doesn’t require a large opening for the coffee to drip into.4. The handles is very solid and sturdy and the carafe itself is not light of flimsy – great attention to detail here.5. Reviews for coffee machines are often littered with people rating down because the “hot plate” doesn’t heat a thermal carafe. NO THERMAL CARAFE HAS A HOT PLATE. If you want a hot plate, you must purchase something with a glass carafe. Thermal carafes are insulated and that would destroy them.Beverage Quality & FlavorI ground and brewed Starbucks whole bean Winter Blend – a coffee I am not liking – and brewed a pot in my old Ninja and the Oxo side by side. The aroma that comes out of the Oxo when pouring a cup is amazing and nonexistent from the Ninja. Out of the Ninja, the coffee was fuller bodied but bitter (why I don’t like it) and out of the Oxo bad coffee was transformed into a smooth delicious cup…. I was amazed that I suddenly didn’t mind what I thought were some bad beans. The body of the coffee is my one and only complaint about the OXO. Because you cannot control the brewing process at all (based on number of cups brewed, the Oxo brews each size in different ways but you can’t change a setting to force a longer contact time of the water with the coffee). This results a a more watery, less fuller bodied cup of coffee but a cup that has amazing flavor. I have tried three different freshly ground beans and compared to the Mocha master and Ninja and all of them taste so much better out of the Oxo.I thought the single serve brew basket produced a better cup than brewing a full cup. Usually, these options ( like in the Ninja) don’t allow enough contact time with the grinds to do as good of a job in flavor extraction as when brewing a full pot. This was not the case with the Oxo which slows down the drip time based on the size and the insert ensures full coverage from the rain head. The single service uses a cone where full pots at flat bottom – which is actually what you want as those are the best brew methods for those sizes of coffee. The only other negative which is also a positive is the brew time. The water compartment is glass (no plastics exposure which is great!). To hit the 195-205 degree SCA brew temp, the Oxo pre-heats the water in the glass chamber and then uses a second heating element during the brew process. The problem is, the pre-heat cycle for a full pot takes almost as long as it does to brew a pot of coffee. While this model has a timer, you really should pre-heat your carafe with hot water so keep in mind of setting to brew the night before, but not preheating the carafe you won’t keep your temperature as long as I mentioned previously. At the end of the day, this machine makes one heck of a good cup of coffee. I would recommend – especially while it’s 100 off. It fixes all the things that were wrong with the other two oxo models for sure.

Best coffee maker I ever had

I had quite a few good coffee makers. I’ve had this one a little over a year, not a problem one. It makes delicious coffee, and the carafe keeps it hot for hours. it’s easy to program and easy to clean. I saw one review that complained that it needs to be descaled every thirty days, however if you use a commercial descale solution it will not require descaling that often. I use Urnex, and don’t need to descale but every 2.5 to 3 months. It does take time to heat the water to brew, and it blooms the coffee, so after the first few pumps of water it will rest a couple of minutes. After that it brews pretty quickly. I started to set the timer to brew a few minutes before I get up, so no waiting for fresh coffee in the morning! We’ve commented often what a difference to have it has been consistently great brew compared to our other high end coffee makers. Also, it comes with a two year warranty, which is quite good.

    Best Iโ€™ve Owned

We brew half calf that we pre-mix, Kirkland brand, not a good option for good tasting coffee. However, this pot brews it up into a tasty cup, that tells you something. I love the convection pre heater in the back, good tech. The carafe keeps the coffee warm well into the afternoon, by 2 PM I just give it a little zap. The best part is the coffee doesnโ€™t scorch, the carafe keeps it hot. Two things to keep in mind; one: the lid ejects ultra steam out of the top near the end of the brew cycle, I pull the unit out from under the cabinet for brewing so the cabinet doesnโ€™t get a daily dose of steam. Two: you must remember to empty the carafe before the next brew cycle if you donโ€™t consume all of the coffee. You canโ€™t see it, so out of sight, out of mind. I have recommended this coffee maker to a friend.

    Highly recommended!

Love this coffee pot! Iโ€™ve purchased a few over the last few months and this one is a keeper. Excellent coffee, simple programming, one cup pod less feature is nice. But if you want 12 cups no problem. Great looks. Iโ€™ve read reviews and have had no issues with the pot leaking nor a descaling issue. Highly recommended!

    Great!

I love this coffee machine! I read reviews, I searched, I was hesitant, I bought it. Decaf coffee is my beverage of choice. My Breville died after 10 yrs of daily use-Needed new coffee maker! There are sooo many to choose from. This is a wonderful machine. Yes, during pumping in the last bits of water is a bit loud-not a deal breaker-I donโ€™t sleep in the kitchen! The carafe is the most balanced Iโ€™ve lifted & easy to pour when full. The handle is slightly โ€˜fatโ€™ & padded. My hands are stiff & weak in the morning so this is very important to me. Thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for hours. I always brew 12 cups. Easy to move on the counter. Relatively small footprint. Easy operation & cleaning. Looks very nice. Makes great tasting coffee. I am not a coffee snob-just use really good coffee and Large brown basket type filters. I am Very pleased with my purchase! You might be delightfully surprised like I was! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸคฉUPDATE: Jan 29, 2024. Still loving this machine! At least 1 pot/day. Easy to use, easy to set for โ€˜brew laterโ€™. Hasnโ€™t missed a beat๐Ÿคฉ Just love it.
