Absolutely love this easy to use machine.

I love drinking Espressos and Cappuccinos and only drank them at coffee shops or restaurants. Never invested the money and time on the high end multi-step machines than have clean-ups afterwards. I don’t have that amount of time to spend on getting a cup or two when needed. Sure it would be nice when company comes over, but never had enough needs. With this Philips 2300 machine I can brew standard coffee, have hot water for tea and so easily brew a cup of Espresso or Cappuccino. So when I received the unit, I found the instructions a little hard to follow. Took my time and made sure I followed all the steps. I first did a water soft/hardness test with the included test strip and set the level according to the results. Next I shook the Aguaclean unit for a few seconds and emerged into water, holding down until all the air bubbles were released. After I installed the water filter ( Aguaclean) and filled the water container. I then proceeded to fill the bean hopper and I set the grind to 5. Now that all the initial setting were completed I proceeded to partially fill the milk container and slipped it onto the nozzle. When the unit first turns on and goes through it’s self test, it also cleans the tubes of any previous residue. I proceeded to brew a cup of Cappuccino. The machine went to work, ground the beans and heated up the milk and dispersed the frothed milk into the cup, afterwards the coffee flowed into the cup and within a minute of so I had a fresh cup of Cappuccino. After taking a few sips, I was extremely happy with the full, bold taste. Just as good as any coffee house with a lot less cost. I’ve used this machine daily for weeks now and have brewed everything it’s capable of and everything has come out great. So now I have a very quick machine with a simple press of a button gives me a great cup of Coffee, Espresso or Cappuccino. Hot and prefect tasting. The best part yet is there’s literally not much clean up at all. I empty the water and grounds drawer everyday and take a minute to clean the milk container. No other daily cleaning needed. I have also found by holding the on/off button for a few seconds when machine is off, I can get into the setting for beverage temperature, intensity, sleep time and water hardness/soft. When grinding the beans and making a beverage, the noise level is minimum, I expected the grinder to be a lot louder. So far this machine was worked flawlessly and the brewed beverages are so tasty and rich in flavor. I’m using a medium roast bean as I heard it’s better to go with beans less oily. You can also use ground coffee, there’s a port and included measuring spoon for this purpose. I’ll stick to the beans. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the quality and taste of the beverage and no need for time consuming cleaning on a every use basis. Such an easy to use, quick and great functioning coffee machine. Problem is I can’t go back now! I’m so hooked and enjoying every cup.

Why buy any other kind of expresso machine?
I love this coffee machine! I’m not sure why anyone would buy a machine with the tube steamer/frother now that you can get one of these.. The milk carafe/ holder is absolutely ingenious. I can’t believe how easy it is to clean. I just take it off and put it in the fridge and clean it every other day or so. I’ve had a traditional expresso machine that was $400 and because of all that filling compacting the coffee, ect, I didnt end up using it very often. This I use very day, sometimes in the afternoon as well. Try using a clear cup-it comes out in layers just like the picture. Super cool! Highly recommended.

I love this machine! I had been looking into spending $800-1000 on an espresso machine that required a ton of steps to prepare for a brew, then a ton more steps to clean up I just couldn’t justify the expense. When I saw this machine at half the price AND fully automatic, I was ecstatic! I have been using it almost every day for about a month now, and I absolutely love it.In addition to being automatic, it has a sort of “self-clean” feature. Every time the unit powers on and off, hot water is forced out the drip spout, keeping it clean from debris. It does require additional weekly and monthly maintenance to keep the machine performing at its best, but I like that the daily routine is minimal. The water holding tank also has its own water filter to keep your machine from scaling up with hard water.The hopper on the top of the machine has a rubber seal to keep your beans fresh. After selecting your brew choice, it grinds your beans fresh every brew, then discards it into the internal reservoir. This, along with the drip pan, has to be emptied every several brews (for me, about twice a week). There is no time wasted on weighing beans, measuring grounds, tamping a puck, or cleaning parts after each use. You just push a button and have an incredible tasting, customizable brew in minutes that rivals the pricy coffee shops. If you prefer a flavored pre-ground coffee, there is a compartment for that as well.This machine has 4 options for brewing that are easy to customize to your preferred flavor profile. You can adjust the strength of the brew extraction as well as the amount of fluid that is used to get exactly what you are wanting. This model has options including a single or double shot of espresso, coffee which adds more water to your brew, hot water if you would like a cup of tea or an Americano, and, my personal favorite, the cappuccino, which uses the LatteGo milk steaming system. This makes an absolutely beautiful frothy drink. After use, the LatteGo attachment comes apart easily and is dishwasher safe!I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee connoisseur by any means, so I don’t have any experience with other machines. I’m just a mom who loves fancy coffee drinks, but not coffee shop prices. This machine, in comparison to others on the market, is competitively priced, and I personally love that it is fully automatic. I don’t have to fuss with 1000 steps every morning while my toddler is screaming for breakfast. With a handful of syrups and drizzles, I have a fully customizable café in my kitchen every morning, and I don’t have to pay $10 a day for it.I would absolutely recommend this product.

Great cappuccino
I’ve been an Italian Gaggia fan for years but this machine is awesome; the cappuccino frothing is messy on other machines but this is amazingly easy and maintainable – must be proprietary technology.

Nice espresso!
Bought this to replace a 10 year old Gaggia. This unit has same internals (that’s a good thing). It has a smaller footprint and is quieter. We typically take 2-3 espressos a day from the unit and this one brews well with a food amount of crema that exceeds our old unit.Overall very pleased with this unit.
