The final and best form of the venerable C2
The C2 is a well-respected and consistently recommended grinder in the less-than $100 price range, and this C2S model is the best version of that grinder. Everything on this grinder is metal, from the handle (not just the arm, the handle you hold when grinding is solid metal) to the entire body and everything in it. It has two bearings on the shaft, which makes it extremely balanced and without any slop or wiggliness in the turning action. The finish on the body reminds me of high-quality camera equipment. Very nicely done. The body is weighty and very solid metal, and the bottom cup has been improved with a rubber bottom and very nice threading with a collar to make re-threading the cup dead-easy. Same burr as any other C2 model, which I prefer for its speed, which is among the faster hand grinders out there. Highly recommended and would make a very impressive gift for a coffee lover. You can find all the specifics on its performance and grind quality on youtube or anywhere else coffee gear is reviewed, but you can’t go wrong with this model at this price. It’s about ten bucks more than the base C2 (which has plastic parts).

Exceeds Expectations
I bought this as an occasional backup grinder after an extended power outtage without my electric grinder left me drinking instant coffee for two weeks. BUT, this Chestnut hand grinder has become my go-to everyday grinder instead. Highly recommend!1. It feels well-made. Heavy metal and smooth handle action. Even the bottom cup screws into the main body nicely.2. The grind is even, easily-adjustable, and my coffee flavor is noticeably improved over my electric grinder.3. Grinding is quick and easy. A full pot of coffee for us is two grinds of beans in the Chestnut, and I can make it happen as quickly as filling my electric grinder and putting it through its cycle.4. No worries about power. Now I’m a coffee prepper, and this grinder will definitely come with me for any camping trip or road trip. Packs up small.

Solid Build and Fast Grinding
It feels well-built and of good quality, even though I’ve only been using it for a month. I think it grinds coffee beans quickly. It’s not exactly easy to wash, but since it only handles coffee, I don’t see much of a problem if some coffee residue remains.

High quality, excellent coffee grinder that will last a long time
This is a well made product, heavy duty and built to last. Most importantly, I was able to follow their directions and easily dial in the same grind that my quality plug-in grinder Baratza does and I can take this on the road in our RV! Very easy to use and clean, and only takes a minute or so. Highly recommended, though the price seems to jump around a lot so look for it on sale.

High quality instrument
Nice metal feel. Perfect size for those who only need only a cup or two a day. Click counting from full close is ingeniously simple to help baseline your favorite grind size…just make sure you jot down the click count and stick it somewhere on the unit so you can return to it without having to retest every time you take it a part to clean. Overall it’s nice and simple, high quality specially at the price point. A pleasure to use.

Wow
Wow. This exceeded expectations. Smooth easy grind, quiet, comfortable to hold, and importantly produces a high quality grind. Adjusting the grind size, in particular, is easy and customizableI bought this as a hold over until I’m willing to shell out for an electric grinder but after trying this maybe I’ll just stick with this.

The best hand grinder I’ve used
Why do you use a hand grinder? Because it’s better – it provides uniform grounds, doesn’t require electricity, is easy to clean, easy to travel with, and won’t get outdated. And this is the best one I’ve used.Don’t try to go for a cheaper grinder – this is really the one to get. I’ve bought cheaper ones that will make bigger grounds the more I use them (the burr tightening nut will loosen more due to the friction of grinding, and then you have to tighten it all the time), but this one is absolutely rock solid. The stainless steel burr with the dual bearings is excellent and reliable. It doesn’t catch or give you hard spots with areas of the turn, and the dual bearings means it’s a consistent grind (no warping of the positioning of the burr giving uneven grounds due to a bending rod on a single bearing). It’s smooth-grinding and rigid, and it’s so easy and satisfying to use. It’s super easy to clean too, and the little brush does the job perfectly.Honestly I love drinking coffee, but when I get to grind it with this grinder in the morning it just adds a little more of a serotonin boost with how satisfying it is to use.Don’t go cheaper. This is the one you’re looking for.

Well made product
I have been using this coffee grinder for a few days now.It is quick and easy to use – takes about a minute to grind two scoops of coffee beans for espresso. The case is easy to grip and the large knob is comfortable to turn. The coffee comes out with a uniform grind and adjusting the size was simple when following the instructions. It comes with a carrying bag and brush – haven’t needed to use them yet.
