    Very high build quality grinder!

Very high build quality grinder! It’s heavy and feels great to use. I have another cheap hand grinder with “ceramic”, probably plastic, burrs, it sucks compared to this one. Literally no comparison.I have a Baratza Encore and a Baratza Virtuoso Plus that produce a lot of static when I grind. I usually spray the beans with one or two sprays of water before grinding to reduce the static mess. The directions for this one say to NOT spray water on the beans before grinding. I agree, as this doesn’t produce static electricity at all, it is manual after all.Another obvious observation is that it’s quiet. There no loud motor to wake anyone up.I’m going to use it for pour overs primarily. I’ve noticed very uniform grinding. I’m happy with it so far.

    Good build quality

Feels really well built and heavy. Good size so it is not too big or small for gripping in one hand as you grind. It can grind about three tablespoons of coffee per batch. The grounds seem to be consistent, but I can’t really measure it. I used mine with a pour-over system and grinding your coffee to the size you like makes it taste way better than the ones made with expensive gadgets from the stores.

    Solid grinder, very efficient

Got this to replace my other travel grinder that was good, but took quite a bit of time to grind my beans for my aeropress. This grinder is extremely high quality and very beefy. Solid construction, nice carrying case and with the grind settings visible with dots to indicate larger or smaller grind settings it makes adjustments quick and easy.It takes less than 30 seconds to grind my beans now vs 3-4 min. It is amazing. Handle for the grinder moves smoothly and easily.Heavier than I ideally wanted for airline travel, but I will take the hit to have the speed when making a cup of coffee. The handle does not break down to fit inside the grinder like my older one, but it hangs down the side – see the photos – not a game changer, but means It may take some creativity when packing in a suitcase as you have to allow for the handle. It does bend if you want to leave it attached at the top, but it may pack better separately.

    TIMEMORE Chestnut C3S

Finally, no sediment, no bean particles

After years of using a spinning blade bean grinder, I finally broke down and spent the money on a good burr grinder, and this is a good burr grinder. Gone are the fine coffee bean particles and sediment in my French press and cold brew. Gone is the increasingly upset stomach from ingesting those particles. My coffee is so much more enjoyable. I use the higher recommended grind setting for French press, and I settled on the 35 grind setting for my cold brew. For cold brew, the ground coffee is large enough not to seep through the filter while steeping. This grinder is a well-made piece of equipment. It feels precision in the hands, not cheap, when unscrewing the ground coffee container at the bottom and especially when holding the textured surface and turning the handle while grinding. I like the way the handle folds up on itself—great for storage and not taking up room on my pantry shelf like an extended handle would do. It comes with a nice storage bag and a brush for cleaning. Cleaning is a snap. I grind about three grinds at a time to fill my cold brew filter container. It takes a few minutes, but it’s a few easy turns (when the grind is finished, the handle spins easily) and worth the extra time for a good cup of coffee.

A perfect entry into higher quality coffee grinding. Top marks!

After my Porlex grinder’s ceramic burrs started to dull (and the handle attachment began to strip completely) I knew it was time for a new coffee grinder. This time I opted for a slight upgrade to what I’d heard was a more consistent and reliable grinder. I can confidently say that this grinder offers an excellent value for the results it provides. Sure there are higher quality grinders available for those seeking to make smaller gains in flavor and consistency but I think this grinder offers that sweet spot of quality, value, and performance. Why?- The grinds are very consistent and it grinds perfectly for pour overs, Aeropress brews, drip, and French press coffee methods. If you are looking for an espresso grinder, opt for Timemore’s ESP series for more fine tuned (and finer) grinding offerings. Or at that level you may want to consider a higher end grinder.- This grinder is easy to use and grinds pretty fast in my experience, certainly faster than my old Porlex did. The finer your grind preference the longer and harder you’ll have to grind but I’ve never found it to be a “slow grinder.”- Every piece of this grinder is built with quality. It all assembles together perfectly and is durably built of high end materials. It feels good to hold and use.- This grinder is easy to disassemble and clean too. I appreciate that they include a brush to do so.- It looks really nice!Long story short I foresee this being my go to coffee grinder for a long time. I’m really happy with the results I’m getting from it and my coffee cups taste great. I’d recommend it.

Sturdy Build, Thoughtful Design, Good Coffee

This is my first manual coffee grinder. I have a Baratza coffee grinder that I’ve been using for grinding coffee beans, but it does not go quite as fine as I need for the way I am making coffee right now; so I bought this to grind beans to espresso size. The build is sturdy. And the design is thoughtful. I love that the body is knurled to help your grip as you grind. I love the way the handle folds. The size is perfect, compact but capacious. The weight is nearly ideal. I’m finding that the flavor of my coffee is a little richer, stronger and less bitter than it was before; so I’m really happy with my choice. My only quibble is that the manual does not specify that the handle needs to be on the unit to adjust grind size. It took me a little time to figure this out and it came close to spoiling my honeymoon introduction to an otherwise good piece of kit.

    Good for beginners. Good build.

I’m an average coffee drinker. I simply wanted something with good build quality, not too expensive and that wouldn’t take too long to grind my coffee beans unlike the cheap plastic grinder I had. This one is great, it takes less than a minute to grind my beans for the french press and the process of using its own container as measure cup makes it easy to use, the bottom container fits perfectly into its top opening  so I only have to put them together and flip it so I don’t drop coffee beans by accident. This is a great tool. Worth the money.

4th time purchase. Best manual grinders for money.

That was my 4th Timemore manual coffee grinder purchase. Another cool birthday gift for a friend, coffee enthusiast. Time ago, I’ve got one for myself, Slim, then time to time was buying for friends. Everyone loves theirs. Slightly deferent models in purchase history, but all of them get strong, solid construction, smooth torsion, provide quick and consistent grind. Easy to use, easy to adjust and clean. Few “clicks” and you change the taste of your coffee beans dramatically. At home, I use Mazzer Philos, but Timemore is always with me then going outdoor, cabins, run-away weekends, business travels, conferences – even abroad. It was with me in Mexico, Edinburgh, Dublin, Lisbon. It might look pricy, but it is one-time purchase, and Timemore grinders definitely worth the price. If you are coffee enthusiast, especially “pour over” person – mast have.
